Rent is too high for just one person , even in Utah I paid less on a month to month lease for the same size living area. Cost of living here is supposed to be less than Utah, not more, it’s not nearly as desirable of a location as Salt Lake City is (it’s not close to any major recreational sites) so definitely sounds like they are charging more just to charge more.
The lease claims to say that smoking marijuana is prohibited but all my neighbors are smoking it. I smell it in the hallways all the time. I can’t open my window without marijuana smell coming in. Why claim to be a no marijuana smoking apartment complex when you can’t enforce the rule? All they can do is leave letters on everyone’s doors about that rule but it keeps happening.

Update: found dog poop on the sidewalk enters de to our building this morning.
Living here has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had as a renter. For months, we’ve been dealing with cigarette butts, ash, and even food being regularly dropped from the balcony above onto our patio. It’s happened so often that we had no choice but to remove all of our patio furniture since it was constantly being soiled with debris.
We’ve reported this issue multiple times. We’ve provided photo evidence. We’ve followed up respectfully, again and again. And yet… nothing has changed. To make matters worse we have had to clean up the mess being left by the resident even after being assured many times that we would not be left to clean up their debris by management.
Instead of addressing the situation seriously, management’s responses have been dismissive, inconsistent, and at times completely inappropriate. When we raised these concerns about the neighbors above with the on site manager she continually stated “didn’t want to deal with it.” Even when I told her that I understood she didn’t want to deal with unhappy residents but this was a major concern for us her response was again that she didn’t want to deal with this and went on to say those neighbors are likely to retaliate which was the reason she didn’t want to move forward.
To be clear, these same neighbors later screamed obscenities at me after they received a notice for their behavior—confirming exactly the kind of hostile, retaliatory environment we feared. Still, management did nothing aside from asking if I had to go back to my home because she didn’t know how the other residents would react.
We even escalated the issue to upper management. The response? Silence. No follow-up. No resolution. Just more cigarette butts showing up near our unit, more ash, more mess, more disrespect—and a growing sense that the people running this property simply don’t care.
To this day, our emails go unanswered, our concerns remain unresolved, and the only thing we’ve received in return for our patience is complete disregard. This property is not just poorly managed—it’s unsafe, unprofessional, and unwilling to protect its residents.
Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Dutton Estates is HIGHLY recommended. The staff are so nice, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The office staff are professional, kind, and respectful, adding to my amazing experience.

This place is gross to say the least. You will find garbage, cigarettes, human hair, and tons of dog poop around this property. When I’ve brought these issues up I get told they will be handled only to find that the items remain where they are until a resident take it upon themselves to clean it up as I have had to do many times. If you want a clean space, I’d recommend somewhere else.

My maintenance request was fulfilled within hours and the job was done perfectly the first time and they even wrote and note to let me know what was done. Even the part that need to be ordered was overnighted and fixed the next day and you would never of even guessed they where we re there.

Kim was extremely helpful with the process. The apartment was clean and ready for us, the area is amazing. Im here on a short term lease because i plan to buy a house in the next 6 months. Dutton accommodated us and is making the transition period easy.
