It's a hidden gem since I've never seen it prior to exiting the UP. Be sure to not turn into the police station, instead, go past it to the stop sign and then turn left. The park is well maintained. The landscaping with summer blooms are amazing. The restrooms are well kept. You can get a good view of the Mackinac bridge and take good photos with a telephoto lens. You can technically walk down to the water in the summer months although I am not sure if hst is allowed but I did not see any warning signs posted. Easy to get back on to I 75 too.

A beautiful place to stop and admire both the bridge and the shimmering lake. Tiny islands on the horizon will transport you to the tropics.

I was so excited to see the bridge! It was awesome. There is a little park. It's the last exit before you go over the bridge on the west side. They have lots of information about the bridge and paths with pretty flowers.

I always enjoy visiting this park. Unfortunately it was incredibly foggy and I wasn't able to see the bridge and out into the streets as I usually am. Hopefully in the next day or two while I am up here it will clear up. I always appreciate how clean the park is.

Absolutely ? beautiful. The kids had an amazing time and loved playing with the rocks and getting in the waterRestrooms: Bathrooms were very clean and tidy inside the memorial building.Dog-friendliness: Pets are welcome to my knowledge as long as they are leashed and supervised at all times just like your children should be.

Great park to stop by either on your way to the U.P. or heading back home down to the lower peninsula. One of the best views of the bridge since it’s pretty close but also not too far. Visiting during sunset while eating a pasties is exactly what my friend and I did before our drive back to Detroit.

Love the St Ignace side of the straits. It's way less crowded which makes it a better place to walk your dogs and enjoy the fabulous view.
