I was referred to GA Hunt….not sure why though. I had a very unprofessional experience all-around. They scheduled a day to come out, I waited all morning until around 11 (they were supposed to be to my house before 9). After waiting for hours, I called them and was informed that I was moved back a day in the schedule. No call the day before or in the morning, nothing…and they knew I had an emergency with my septic that needed addressing asap. After they came, they changed the pump out in my system, but with too large of a pump and ended up blowing fittings from the piping. I called GA Hunt back to service and look at the problem, and was told Trevor would call me back. The owner still has not called me back and it’s been over a week. I went with another company who was able to come out and get everything back working the same day I called them. Also, they have zero price transparency, as their techs just leave without telling you they’re done or what they’re doing as they’re adding and replacing things.

Fast and friendly service. They came out the same day on a Friday. Everyone else wanted us to wait until Monday or later. Prices are very reasonable and the service we received was great. Thankfully there are still companies willing to go the extra mile. Thank You.

The best experience I have ever had with any contractor! Robin, Colton, and their colleagues were knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. Colton and crew carefully avoided disturbing shrubs that my wife and I had hoped to save but knew we might lose. They went above and beyond, and they cleaned up the mess left by a previous contractor, who left an old copper pipe sticking up out of the ground! They carefully set landscape edging aside, rather than destroy it , and even picked up wind blown tree branches in our yard, and put them in our compost bins! They saved our sidewalk from damage, because it was built on sand and they did not need to tear it up to work under it. I can't guarantee that they can save sidewalks under all circumstances, but we cannot say enough good things about G.A. Hunt!

GA Hunt is the premier septic and excavating service in the Clinton and Ingham County Area. Greg and his son Trevor have been in this business for their whole lives and their experience and expertise is unmatched. They walk you through exactly what your needs are and what the job will entail. Highly Recommend.

Came out and dug a water line to a outbuilding. Great job, great priced and extremely professional clean up after the job.

Everything before service seemed like it was going well, but the execution, follow up, and communication have all been absolutely dreadful. Excavation started okay, with work done as expected in a short amount of time. Two bushes and a Japanese maple that needed to be taken out were pulled up by the crew and left on the lawn. I was not asked to move or dispose of them, so I left them where they had been placed. When the excavation got underway the next day, the bushes they had pulled up were buried in the huge pile of dirt. And then when the trench was filled back in, the bushes were torn up and buried in my yard as part of the fill job. Even without having experience in this kind of work, that struck me as sloppy and unprofessional, and seemed like it would cause issues with the lawn ever getting back to normal. Branches were sticking up out of the ground. My walkway was damaged, also, but I understand that I signed a contract which said they weren't responsible for that. I was told by the contractor that they would come back to "grade" the lawn later. No expectations set for the timeframe. Things finished on 2/28. On 3/20, I texted to see if I needed to do anything else to schedule the grading. No response immediately, so I tried again two days later. Got a response that he would "stop by today" to see if it had settled enough to grade it. (That would become a very familiar expression.) Around mid-April I was tired of waiting to hear about the next step, so I emailed the company directly to see what was going on, and letting them know I would be happy to pay when the work was finished. I got a prompt reply that explained a bit of the process which hadn't been told to me before, which I did appreciate. No proactive communication from the company for a while, until they sent me a terse email saying I needed to make payment even though work wasn't done. I paid most of the balance, but said that I would withhold about 10% of the payment until work was completed. No response. Texts to the contractor typically were not responded to quickly or at all, and always indicated that he would come out today to see if it was settled enough to grade. Of course, I never got any communication that these visits actually took place, so it's anyone's guess whether he ever actually came. I finally couldn't wait any more and had to pay the balance, so that I could complete my insurance claim. I emailed to ask for an updated invoice showing full payment for my insurance company. I did not receive any response to that request. Fortunately, I was able to work with my insurance company to show proof of payment, even without the company's assistance. That was back around mid-May, almost 3 months after the work was done. It is currently mid-September (6 months after the excavation job), and my yard is still a mess and has not been graded. I have asked if communication should be through a different method than texting the contractor, but the only replies i get are slightly testy messages saying that he will come today and see if it's settled enough. I was also informed that there is no topsoil or seeding, any other finishing touch placed on the work. So I'm currently left with a weedy, lumpy, rocky yard with 3 bushes inside it. But my plumbing does work so far.Edit: after sending an email to the company requesting details about when the work would be completed, I received a voicemail from the contractor stating that he came out and the ground doesn't need additional grading, so their work is done. I truly can't express how dissatisfied I am with that as a resolution. I've been following up for months thinking that they would do SOMETHING about how awful it looks, but they're done. He apparently just forgot to tell me they were done instead of continuing to tell me he'd come out and see if it was ready to finish. He said at this point it's on me, and I can hire a landscaper to get my lawn fixed. If you use this company, don't expect any kind of foll

Very pleased with the job performed. They know what they are doing and had the right equipment and friendly workers. Sometimes it’s hard to get a hold of the office but keep in mind that computers and phone services can be rough out in rural areas and trevor or Ashley will get back to youService: Septic system installation

I called looking for a quote to have 3 tank risers installed. G A Hunt had a professionally trained representative on the line ready to answer my questions. I was able to provide information and receive a quote over the phone. An installer came out a week later and did a great job.

We hired G. A. Hunt to fix our main drain from our house to the City's connection. They gave us a reasonable quote for the work; they showed-up on time; they were efficient with their work; and they completed the task in a reasonable amount of time. However, within a few days, our main drain backed-up again; much to our chagrin. We called them back and within a matter of hours, they had scoped out the problem, gotten the crew back to our house, and had completed the repairs without any more issues - what a great way to turn a potentially bad situation into a victory for the company. I do not say this lightly (or frequently), but I am impressed with G. A. Hunt's professionalism, their responsiveness, AND their willingness to problem solve so efficaciously. Thank you! We will most certainly be recommending G. A. Hunt to anyone who needs their services in the future.Services: Plumbing pipe repair

The only thing that doesn't get them 5 stars is the fact that they never called. Just showed up. Other than that their service is excellent and price is very reasonable. I was home both times they stopped, and I needed their service. So I was ok with it
