They refused to check an engine light. All I needed to know was why I was on, but I guess that takes way too much time and ties them up all day according to what they said.

They got my car in right away after my check engine light had come on. By the end of the day Rick had a diagnosis and plan of attack, and by 10am the next day I was on the road again!! He called me himself and explained everything in SUCH detail. I really appreciated that, especially being female. A lot of times they don't bother going into detail with us, but he did!! My car is running better than ever! Bonus: a smell issue when the car was hot that I never mentioned to them that I'd taken the car to the dealership for three times for with no luck is now finally gone too!!! I've definitely found a trustworthy reliable mechanic now!

The service techs at Rick's are awesome! I've been taking my trucks there for over 20 yrs and they have not disappointed me once. I have had some unusual problems both mechanical and electrical but after giving them as much details as to what was going on they were able to problem solve my situations
Most recent one was that I was getting a Jerking situation while I was in over drive gear and was trying to accelerate my speed.
They went back in my history of service work and found that I was do for a tune up. They did the tune up and that solved the problem.
Great job well done
Thank you guys

Shortly after washing my van, my brakes were grinding... very loudly. I live in Saint Johns, and a few auto shops came to mind, but I still search Google before making a choice, because my vehicle's health is important.
I was looking for someone who has been around for awhile, who specializes in brakes, and runs an operation with integrity. The last part is difficult to discern, but Rick's pulled it off wonderfully.
From the outside, these guys look dated, but the culture, and the work inside is a different story. After diagnosing my situation, Rick the owner personally contacted me to explain the situation and give me options.
My car is now back in operation, and no more brake issues. Thanks Rick, Jarred, and the Crew!

8 or 10 months ago I hired ricks shop to see if he could find an electric issue with my vehicle and his guys looked and looked did alot but couldn't figure it out but I had no power. I asked him they did routine inspection under it and the hood and so forth and he always brought up fuse relay power box under fuses but it wasn't it..after awhile he stopped trying and then wanted me to pay alot of money for no results and that always rubbed me wrong because inspection and diagnosis are usually a fix price between 75 and 150.00 but not more, and after all attempts to find the issue and wanting it gone and be paid I took it to another shop that told me that if previous shop had done a routine inspection under the vehicle by the wheels where wiring is shown that they would found the problem in a matter minutes and therefore realize that it was a loose battery cable or wire that cause it all to short out killing battery and altenator.. a routine vehicle inspection would have found the problem and would not a spent months at ricks causing tension between because of being there so long.. not to mention paying them double what I should have for a normal diagnosis or inspection costs.. I pd him reluctantly but he should have dismissed the last amount I pd him because he didn't get the job and they weren't even looking in the right area and they were really qualified to do electrical At all.. I took to another shop and got a second opinion and now my van is back up and running better than before and it had nothing to with relay unit or fuse.. a lose battery cable under the vehicle was the problem and simple fix that ricks should have caught in a routine inspection.. but they are great armr brakes and rotors and muffler etc.. they don't usually attempt to troubleshoot or fix electrical.. license mechanics can but those guys that do brakes rotors muffler don't require college but it helps if they do have higher education..

Fixed my wife's muffler. Took a little longer then I would expect but I don't know how long it takes to get parts in. I would recommend them.

Rick's Auto Experts, I highly recommend these guys. It's reassuring to work with an honest auto repair shop. Rick has some good experience in the business. You can be confident, they won't sell you what you don't need.

We own 4 vehicles. None of them brand new. I stumbled upon Ricks and it is a gem. It’s very hard to find a mechanic you trust and I feel like this place is just that. I have found them to be honest, timely, fairly priced. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring any vehicle to them for repair.Services: Auto engine diagnostic

My husband's car had no heat. We took it to Rick and he said that it needed a new fan. Paid $500 and picked it up 3 days later and still no heat. So we called him that day and he said to bring it back next week. We took it back and 4 hours later he called and said "I'm going to need $120 more for the additional diagnostics we have run." We said "No thanks, we will come pick up the car. You didn't fix it as agreed upon last week. " So we picked it up and now the trunk would not open and the interior lights controlling the heat also did not work. Plus the actual heat still did not work. We took it to Auto Surgeon in Lansing and found out that not only were the parts not re-installed correctly but there were also missing parts. Bottom line is......not only does Rick NOT guarantee his work but he is also dirty. Don't trust this guy.
