I opened an account with them while they had one of their bonus offers. Set up direct deposit, easy enough. Except I never got the bonus. Chatted with them through the app, but they told me to contact the branch. Called the branch and they said they would look into it and call me back. Never got called back. Two stars because the app is pretty good and a basic bank account is free.

I applied for PPP thru Chase, and several other places, but none would approve it due to the fact I 1099 myself. Josh was able to get me approved quick and easy for both rounds. Thanks so much!!

This is the best bank I have ever opened a account with. They have an amazing staff, especially Josh. He helped out with a situation with my apartment complex. He called them and fix the issue. I couldn't have been more thankful and happy that I choose to bank here. Honestly they know me by name and help me with whatever I need. I can't express how much he helped me from paying more money to my apartments. He figured out the best way about going about the problem. I know my last bank would of said its my problem and they can't do anything about it. But JOSH went above and beyond what I expected. He looked up and read to make sure he knew what we can and cant do. Told me my options and what he thinks I should do. He explained and answered my questions and never judged me about asking them. He explained to me what I should say and that if they had any questions to call him. I went back later that day when the problem with my apartment wasn't being resolved. He asked me what their number was and called them and talked to them and figured it out for me. I walked out of there so relieved and so happy that I opened up a bank account with them. This is the best bank I have ever been to.

I went to "Fee Third" the other day to cash a local check for $2000 drawn on their bank. The teller didn't want to cash it as I am not a member. After getting the Mgr involved, providing several id's, Social sec #, etc, They agreed to do me a "favor" and cash the check.....For 2% fee! I will not give you $40 to cash a check drawn on your bank! Wish I could give less than I star.....

Fifth Third bank is absolutely tragic. I have been banking with them for 10 years or more. Aside from the tellers being polite I don't have a good thing to say about this bank. I will say don't bank with them. They are awful.

Fifth Third bank is absolutely tragic. I have been banking with them for 10 years or more. Aside from the tellers being polite I don't have a good thing to say about this bank. I will say don't bank with them. They are awful. So I work for a business that pays me daily. Maybe 3 to five times a week. So I deposit checks in the atm from the same business a few times a week and I have for months and months. Usually this sort of consistent check depositing from the same business leads to the bank directly depositing the money into your account and it being available. Not with 5/3. It's Sunday night I deposited a check Friday night and two more tonight. They have cleared a portion of one check. No part of the other two. It's just amazing. This bank gives me the impression that it not only does not have any faith in me but none in the company that I work for. Why I don't close this account and move on to a different bank is beyond me. But I will say to anyone looking for a new bank. Steer clear of this place. They're banking practices are unethical, I try not to speak to anyone directly because it leads to frustration, the only time I actually talk to someone aside from a teller is when I am beet red with anger. I signed up for over draft protection and one week later I got two overdraft charges. I have a saving account that I can only put money into. There is no way to access the funds. I have banked with other banks in the past and when something happens and there may be an overdraft the protection transfers the money from your saving to checking to cover the insufficiency. This is not how 5/3 works. My savings account was not touched and they just tacked of some overdraft charges. Thanks. The way you protect me and my money 5/3rd is unique. I work in customer service and I do things a little different. I would love to talk to someone, but I just cannot get someone to address my concerns that does lead me to being confused, feeling like I am to blame for their incompetence, and absolutely frustrated. So I just communicate via the computer or my phone. I have more.
