I wanted to adopt a cat. Filled out the paperwork all the while my spouse is military and stationed in Waco, so we were face timing, it's a way to share the moment. The lady came out of the right side office yelling at me to close my phone. I tried to explain the situation, to which she said I won't allow it. I said, what if we were both here we would be talking, she said id put you in that room to discuss. I was tired of being belittled and yelled at, so I told her how disrespectful she was, and unless she is my mom or dad, she had no right. She is anti military family, and definitely anti us. She even verified the reference and still never allowed the adoption. She's a disgrace to her community and to what America stand for. I forgot to mention a couple walked in after me and were loud and that reception area and she never spoke a word to them about it. It was just because I was on FaceTime with my stationed spouse in Waco or because I'm married to a woman.

My client pup got lost visiting family in another state they had him and literally made my client cry and wouldn't give him back because someone gave the same address that was on his tag while dropping him off there she didn't want him altered there because she don't typically alter dogs between 6 weeks to 3 years she don't really believe in it until potential health issues might arise do to age and I truly believe it should be the owners decision to make but she was told she'd have to pay a fine of 1500 everyday if she don't let them alter him then she was told she's not getting him back unless she let them alter him and this broke her they will do anything to make funds there and that heavier Hispanic lady was so mean and cruel to my client and that lady was laughing at her in the back with other people while she was crying my client is high disabled with many debilitating conditions such as congestive heart failure hypertension which when really upset it can cause her to go to the emergency room she has neuropathy arthritis chronic pain cirrhosis lung conditions she's wheelchair bound on oxygen she has autism bipolar depression IED PTSD anxiety and so much more and we told them he's her service Dog and showed the official paperwork they didn't care and kept upsetting her making things worse the lady that a volunteer she's white kinda tall a little over medium set lighter hair was the one that said you can get him if you let us alter him and on the way out she told my client that she was lying about what happened I honestly think this place needs to be some state officials to review this place and take a look at the staff and witnesses, and after he had been altered they wouldn't give a cone to her dog that had anxiety his self that was a year old and never been to a facility of any kind before that they gave anxiety medicine for because it in the paperwork and when she got him home his wound area was bloody black and blue and looked like the dog from frankenwennie, it got infected the next day and was open Wednesday delt with carefully treating our pets and is doing well but he was also shaking and scared and she's never seen him that way ever when that lady brought him out to her you ripped out of the lady's grasp and jump into his owners arms right then her attitude changed just a little, please do better and always be kind you don't know the person your talking to and you dealt with a highly disabled person very poorly please be better people and treat others how you want to be treated especially in hard times because she was going through a lot and you in business that people oriented with pet love and safety in mind god bless be safe stay kind be humble take care I wish you guys the best and wish you all to be better human beings and look at things through there eyes.

I came in with my daughter and we were warmly greeted by reception and their shop cat, Ember. I told them I was looking for a cat that would be able to get along with my child. So, they invited me in to the cat area. A worker there that works with the cats introduced me to a few and answered all of my questions. I was pleased to see that the cats all looked like they were well treated, provided toys, well fed, etc. I was allowed all the time I wanted to hang around different cats and get a feel of how we might get along if I were to adopt them. I ended up adopting a bonded pair of orange male cats, about 4 months old. I had to fill out some paperwork for the adoption process. On adoption, the shelter gave me a nice starting supply of treats, food, litter, and toys. From filling out the paperwork, I had the cats home within 48 hours. The fee for adopting the cats was $60 for both of them. Both of my cats were up to date on their shots and were neutered. I have had the cats for a couple months now. At first, they were a little shy in their new environment, but once they got comfortable, they have been model cats. Sometimes, new cats will have issues with using their litter box or eating properly, but these cats didn't let the move affect their appetite or litter habits. They are still a little nervous around my daughter, which is understandable since she can be very erratic, but they are warming up to her as I get her to understand that she has to be patient, calm, and easy with the cats to get them to like her better. And, as a pleasant surprise, one of the cats has a wonderful habit of waking me up from nightmares and snapping me out of night terrors. The first time, I just thought it was a coincidence, but as it keeps happening, I feel more at ease going to bed. After having the cats home for a few weeks, the humane society reached out to me by phone to see how things were going with the cats - whether they were using their litter boxes, whether they were eating well, how they were adjusting to the home, etc. It was nice to hear the follow up call and really showed that they care very much about the animals that they look after. The absolute hardest part about dealing with the Humane Society was only adopting two cats. I would very highly recommend that someone looking for a pet to look into the Humane Society.

Looking for a new fur baby since we had to say goodbye to our 14 year old Mojo. We will always miss him but realized how much love he brought into our lives. The Animal Shelter has a great staff that work hard to help you find that special new friend. We found Rosie

If you’re looking to Spay/Nurture your pet they do not offer these services. Even though google claims they do. 3 stars cause the lady who answered the phone was very sweet and referred me to someone who can help.

A very clean and well run shelter. You need an appointment to meet the dogs you are considering to adopt. Robin the shelter manager and Sierra were so helpful.
