About Chippewa County Historical Society

The Chippewa County Historical Society is located in a beautiful historic downtown building. It is a well-organized and interesting place to visit, highly recommended for history buffs. The museum features an amazing and wonderful large-scale model train set-up of the town and railroad, with recreated buildings. There are many local displays, artifacts, pictures, and numerous new and used area books for sale in its unique shop. The staff and volunteers are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and proficient in local research. They can direct visitors to more local sites. The building is under renovation, so it will be even better soon. Some visitors note the Native Chippewa artifacts are extremely limited.
