People are great to work with, as well as management, they even sell their Mushrooms at the parking lot on Fridays and educate customers on how to cook them.

I worked for Great Lakes Mushroom when I got out of the US Navy and while I was going to college from 1969 to 1981 so I was interested in visiting Gourmet Mushrooms, Inc. in Scottville Mi.It was a very interesting visit & if your up there way stop in.

About Gourmet Mushrooms, Inc. - Michigan
Founded in 1977 Gourmet Mushrooms is the oldest specialty mushroom farm in the country and was the first to grow shiitake in the US. We no longer grow shiitake but do grow 5 varieties of more unique culinary mushroom species. We also produce a line of nutraceutical mushroom species for the health supplement industry. Unfortunately we are not able to offer tours to the public at this time.
