“I’m embarrassed I haven’t left a 5-star review sooner because this has been my go-to pharmacy for years. In the four years I’ve been coming here, I’ve never once had an issue with getting my prescription, and the staff has always been friendly no matter who was at the window.
What really prompted me to finally leave this review was a recent experience after I moved and had to try a different pharmacy. My first visit there was horrible—the man at the window was rude and basically told me there was nothing he could do because of an insurance issue (even though I’ve gotten the same prescription monthly from the same provider with no problem here). Not knowing what else to do, I called this location, and I believe I spoke with Fahad. He immediately helped by taking over the prescription and getting it filled for me so I wouldn’t have to go without my medication.
That above-and-beyond care reminded me why this pharmacy has always been the best, and why I should have written this review years ago. Thank you for consistently excellent service!”

“This is definitely the best store around. I just moved here and had to transfer a large amount of prescriptions from a aCVS in Clinton Twp. Unfortunately, they are all on different refill days. They have been. WONDERFUL with getting my scripts transferred and filled. Both pharmacists, Andrew and Laura are amazing. I scheduled an appointment with Andrew for my flu and shingles vaccination and when I got there, I was in and out in 5 minutes. Also the front pharmacy staff are great as well. Alex is always willing to help and if something isn't ready, he takes care of it in minutes. Paul, up front in the store, always seems to be there and ALWAYS helps you find what you need. He knows that store inside and out. Whoever does their hiring there is doing a great job. A lot of Rite Aids are closing in this area, so keep that in mind when getting your scripts filled here. Patience is a virtue and it seems that a lot of society has forgotten that recently. The pharmacy staff aren't God's and can't magically make prescriptions appear from doctors offices and if your order is on back order, remember that is because a supplier does not have the medication. Not CVS, so don't take it out on them. Kindness will get you a lot further then pettiness. Remember that the next time your order can't be filled for reasons out of the pharmacies control. I find ordering a day or two earlier on the on line app helps a lot. You will simply get a text when it's ready. Have a nice day and remember to treat thy neighbor as you treat thyself. It will take you a lot further in life.”

“We’ve been using this pharmacy for years for scripts of medications we use every day. It’s great because they help make sure we get the best deal and deliver right to our door in a timely manner. Anytime I need to call the staff are nice and efficient. The only reason we don’t use them for all of our scripts is because we don’t live close enough for the moments when someone is sick and we need a script filled and in hand within minutes.”

Jason is the pharmacy operations manager and he always goes above and beyond to help with discounts and is very knowledgeable. They are not responsible for big pharma gouging. Just keep in mind you are not the only patient in the world nor should you be above waiting your turn like everyone else. Hats off to people who work in retail and are willing to help!”

“Earlier this year, I walked into Shelby Family Pharmacy in search for the owner, to discuss transferring all of our prescriptions. We moved to Shelby in 2019, but I continued to drive to Clarkston for our scripts because of our relationship we had with that particular pharmacy. I'm not going to share our reason for switching pharmacies, but I will tell you that the drive, four plus times a month, had absolutely nothing to do with the switch. We prefer to deal with family owned companies. John, the owner and pharmacist, took great care of me in no time at all. Every time I call the pharmacy, I can feel the smile, just by the tone and kindness from whomever takes my call. Nowadays, most people don't give out their name when answering the phone. At Shelby Family Pharmacy, a first name is always provided to me, upon answering my call . (I was in retail for 35 years and we always answered the call and provided our first name. What's wrong with society today).
Today, you have to ask/beg for a name. I've had people tell me that I don't need it, because anyone can help me should I call back. Providing a first name makes the call more personable. In many cases, the establishment has all my information, and sometimes even my social security number. Why can't I get a first name? They might not want me to call back and ask for them. That might create more work for them.
Anyway, today, I walked in Shelby Family Pharmacy, and like every single time, I was immediately greeted. Today by Aya. Boy, cheers go out to her parents for raising such a beautiful and special lady. Always so helpful on the phone and in the store. I never feel like a burden here, like I do at other stores. Did I mention Alex? He was there today too. Same thing about him with his customer service and kindness. Aya and Alex could be brother and sister for all I know. I truly believe that this store is one of the last stores around that
treat you like family, hence the name? Short comment to John; I can tell by Aya's and Alex's attitudes and customer service that you treat them very well. But, if I owned a business right now, I would find a way to steal them from you today. LOL. Thank you all at Shelby Family Pharmacy for serving us and treating us like we are part of your family.
