Hello! I'm one of many customers who are still wearing shoes and boots that are 30-40 years young. Picked up my suede heels yesterday. The taps popped off while out-and-about last week. I had to keep moving-no shoes to change into. Yep! No worries. Taps replaced, leather on inside of heel, and torn-ripped suede are all smooth and looking good. Sam's Shoe Service, Southfield, Thank You!

Poor customer service. I brought a back in for a zipper repair and was told they needed a week to repair it so I should bring it back when I had a week to spare so I brought that bag back and was told that they were too busy. He made me feel like my business wasn't needed or like I was bothering him by asking questions. I wouldn't leave anything with these guys. They don't value the customer!

Absolute Worst Experience Ever!!! This shoe repair shop came highly recommended from my friend. But I will never go to a business that shows such disrespect and contempt for their customer's common sense and integrity The manager had the audacity to lie about the original condition of my shoes after screwing up the heels of my black suede sling backs. 1. The heel taps had fallen off and needed to be replaced. 2. They offered to clean the shoes for $30 and I passed. 3. In replacing the heel taps, they scraped the suede off part of the heel. He tells me it's DIRT. It was the natural material underneath the suede and it looked like they had used shoe polish to make it look black. I could go on with my story but it won't change the condition of my shoes or my extreme level of anger and dissatisfaction.

I haven't been there in a few years now, The work they done on my shoes were pretty good, but the reason I no longer go there is the owner doesn't seem to have had ANY home training on how to talk to people/customers. He (SAM) should be in the back working on shoe repair instead of customer service cause he is a very obnoxious individual. Very very provoking. You really have to keep your kool as he's running his mouth. If ask him a simple question you don't know what you're gonna get in a response. Human or animal.

Heel & toe plates on 5 different pairs of dress shoes have fallen off prior to full wear over past year. During previous 8 years there were no issues. Owners say it’s the way I walk. I think there was a change in material quality. Today left heel plate fell off after 200 steps on a new repair. Those are the facts. No blaming. Otherwise it’s a good store with a nice selection of men’s shoes. I bought 10 pairs from them over the years.

The representative is very professional. He listens well and gives you the pros and cons of the repair that is needed to fix your item(s).

Please do not support this business. Dropped off my belongings for cleaning the end of September, did not receive them back till the end of December. When I finally got them back they had been shrunk. They told me they would pay for them and when they saw the price for each (3 Hats) they decided not to. The person I was dealing with for the entire time also said I would get a full refund for the cleaning which was $220, then had somebody else offered store credit. Why would I expect store credit when you ruined my belongings. Long story short BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY DONT TAKE CARE OF YOUR BELONGINGS $1500 worth of hats that I can’t even wear anymore had them all less then a year

Terrible experience. Took a pair of limited edition Red Wing boots for new heels and the work I received was substandard. One of the boots even had visible nail heads sticking up where your heel rests inside. How this was missed is beyond me. I was so unhappy with the first encounter, I decided to bring my boots to Cobbler’s Corner in Northville (after much research) just so I wouldn’t have to deal with Sam’s. Cobbler’s Corner went above and beyond and they have a customer for life. Don’t make the same mistake I made. Zero stars and that’s being generous.

Very disappointed with their UGG cleaning services. My son's red UGGs turned pink and they sprayed painted/dyed my daughter's black pair.

Very rude and aggressive works / owners. They tried to make me pay full price but said he couldn't be sure if the stains would come out of my Uggs !! What's the point of getting them cleaned.

My former shoe service professional retired. I was referred to Sam’s by a jewelry representative. They cleaned and restored two sets of boots, 1 suede, 1 leather. They look brand new again! The consultant explained what needed to be done and why. Pricing just right for quality received. “I’m as happy as a rat in cheese factory.”Thank you Sam’s!

Awful experience ! Requested a repair on a suede boot as there was a small tear. Also requested repair on a leather bag handle that was torn. Was charged nearly $100, up front of course . Picked up today and the boot had glue slopped over the repaired area. And my leather bag handle looked like a child repaired it-and still had the yellow foam lamination exposed post repair! I pointed both issues out and the owner hustled the items into the back, quickly and sloppily painted the exposed foam and rubbed the suede shoe so aggressively to remove the glue that he damaged the fibers. When I again questioned the quality of both, he started yelling at me that the bag was old, excuses for the shoe, etc. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. Never again, and believe me, I will be spreading the word.
