Went to donate today and was treated very rudely. Me and my friend had come to donate stuff but due to her house renovations could only fit so much. The worker constantly kept asking “that’s it?” As if we didn’t bring enough, kept saying things were broken that I checked before bringing in due to throwing the broken parts of of the table set away. He had also asked if my friends work bag was to be donated and she had said it was her work bag and he had complained further about us having bags that weren’t being donated. Then I brought some utensils in and they were sharp so I wrapped them in some bags to prevent them from damaging stuff or hurting people and he said that we couldn’t bring trash. When I explained there were utensils in it he complained about the trash, unwrapped them and haphazardly threw the extra bags around my friends car. I will be donating the rest of my stuff to a different location or a different donation site. Absolutely ridiculous.

Every single time I've donated, which is a lot, I'm screamed at or treated like a nuisance. Yesterday, I watched the donation workers scream at every single car in line and shake their heads. Either you don't pull up far enough, or you pulled up too far, you have too much, too little, the sun is out, it's cloudy, doesn't matter because these men are NEVER nice. I have a 20+ year old SUV with a sticky latch. In the past, they complain they can't figure it out so I got out to open it and got screamed at for getting out. I was so angry, I went inside to speak to the manager. But after reading other reviews, this has been a problem for years. I'll go back one more time so I can scream back at them and then will donate elsewhere. No one deserves to be treated like that.

Charlotte is the worst employee I’ve encountered. She yelled at my friend to take our hangers off and as we were doing so, she decided to step out to smoke a cigarette. She was very rude and loud since we walked in the store. Love the clothes I got and I will for sure be praying for her. Hope she learns to be more kind.

This Salvation Army was my favorite thrift store until recently. The 2 older gentlemen that work there are extremely rude. About a month ago I went to shop and the door was open and unlocked, I started shopping and I got yelled at by one man saying “omg we are not open can’t you tell?” (I believe this man is a manager) I told him no that he was rude and walked out. Last week I went again and the male cashier was very rude telling me I need to take my clothes I was purchasing off the hangers. I was only standing in line for about 10 seconds before he called me up to the register. I informed him that I understood but I was literally in line for about 10 seconds, he then got smart with me and was very rude.

The drop off staff could use better training. Instead of being jerks, gently explain that helping is not necessary. A little kindness goes a long way.

We called and said we have a lot stuff that they can get a good profit off of and donate a lot of it from us but denied us because they didn't wanna do it cuz we had a Uhaul truck full of time cuz they knew it was too time consuming and the 3 of us were very disappointed.

I had a customer service rep experience this past weekend and was very disappointed for this kind of service in a Salvation Army. I walked to the register and spoke she didn’t speak back her response was remove the hangers. I asked was this now policy because I’d never experienced it prior when shopping at this location. She became loud saying ma’am the line would be extremely long if we took off hanger when it’s always been my experience in retail that they do but anywho. She rang up all my items, I paid and she literally walked away once the transaction was complete and left my items on the counter never saying we have a new policy of where we don’t bag or supply them. Just rude and no customer service skills none what so ever. I returned all my items because I refuse to patronize in an establishment where I’m being treated poorly and rude. Work on your reps and train them to be professional and have development skills.

Pricing is very weird, seems almost random, very worn ratty long sleeve shirt was $8 and good condition piece of furniture was $30, so 4 old ratty shirts costs more than a piece of good condition furniture, many dishwares higher priced than brand new retail, found a washed out berry preserves jar that I recognized as a brand from meijer/kroger, they priced this washed out jam jar almost as high it costs with the jam in it at the grocery store, was actually kinda funny, honestly just seems like whoever is in charge of pricing just needs some guidance on how to price to sell for charity thrift, stuff shouldn't be dirt cheap but needs to be competitive per brand new retail or else there's no point

Used to love going to this store. They have been struggling to find good managers. The latest...long, blonde, curly haired short middle-aged man is just plain rude. Actually witnessed him telling a customer they shouldn't shop there. Crazy! Not only is that crazy, but they are now acting like an antique shop with their prices. At the time I wrote this they had a chair priced $800. What is going on? Really disappointed in this location. 13 & Harper, SCS

The customer service in this place has gone from bad to worse. They lie to you about the time so they can close the store quicker. They cut off lights at 7:45 opening themselves up to all kinds of liability if a customer hurts himself/herself. You can't even see the prices on the clothes due to lights being cutoff. Not once do they ask if there is something they can help you with.

Every time I drop off donations, the gentleman that works in the back is not pleasant. Yesterday when I stopped by, he took the bag and never came back. I waited a few minutes and contemplated on getting out of my vehicle to get him but the signs says to stay in your vehicle and quite frankly, with how his normal demeanor is, I would have felt uncomfortable getting out to approach him as it usually seems like a burden to him when I have asked for a donation slip in the past. I'll check out the Clinton township location next in hopes that they will be friendlier.

The cashier literally yelled at someone behind me for not seeing where the sign was to wait. She left the store crying and the cashier complained about people not being able to read. Highly unprofessional and will not be getting my money in the future

The absolute rudest Salvation Army store around. Not Jim (his name tag) was angry because he didn't want to make change for a 20 dollar bill, told me I could pay with all my change and I told him I needed my change and he stated do does he, so I reminded him he's a business and has access to change. His partner at the other register was moving so slow because he didn't want to hustle while "not Jim" was on break , the line is 10 deep and he's not calling for help and when I suggested he do so he got nasty and said there is no one, he should have notified the manager, if they aren't willing to help , then the manager needs replaced. There is no air on in the building, it is so hot it's ridiculous. I will no longer donate to the Salvation Army for these reasons, why help an organization that doesn't hold them accountable, if they are working to become contributors to society they need social skills!

The guy that does the donations is very rude. He complains when you bring things to be donated. Used alot of foul language when unloading the donations to be taken in the store.
