The fish was very small. I had cod I believe it was cut in half.. It was cold. The french fries were hard and crunchy.. The coleslaw was good, and the dessert was a joke will not Be attending that fish fry again very disappointed.

I think the cod was just ok I think for 16.00 dollars it could be better the frys were bad overall I won't go back .

Finally got to try their mushrooms and hanni. Very good and well worth the price. Love looking at the water from the gazebo out along this establishment. They do have some musical bands play here.

CAVEAT EMPTOR:Let me start by saying I am a Cold War era submarine sailor. I joined the VFW as a Life Member for the comradery & volunteering. I volunteered quite a bit in the short time I was there. Yet, I have found that @ this post it's more like like a Good ol' Boys Club and/or den of gossiping kindergarten girls. There is plenty of backbiting & betrayal.It’s easy to be nice when skies are clear & weather fair. However, you can tell a person’s true personality when (you know what) hits the fan. Randy (post commander) & I became close friends. However, one morning I texted Randy with a problem that had been ongoing. In the beginning of said text I asked if he would call. Picking up the phone might have resolved issues. Yet, he chose to become belligerent & insulting. He will say different, I am quite sure. But, it is all in black & white.I tried several more times asking him to call, but he refused. Again, a phone call might have resolved a LOT. I got someone from VFW National to call & ask about the situation. Part way through our conversation, he must think I’m deaf, because I could hear him laugh. He tried to backpedal, but the damage was done. I went on 11/18 to pick up my submarine dolphins which I had left on a smoker (diesel) boat model in the clubroom.I knew everyone in there @ the time, but only 2 mildly greeted me, the rest gave ugly looks & turned their backs on me. Obviously Randy did not keep this between us as I know a good commander should, he ran & told everyone his side of the story. Not like a man, but a little girl. Was any of this my imagination? No, because my girlfriend felt & saw the same. Because of Post 1146 I have become jaded & asked VFW National to completely divest me from membership & return my funds. Sour Grapes? To some degree, maybe. . .PS – OH, forgot to mentioned, we recently had a steak dinner that got me sick aprox 1.5 hours later. How sick? I had explosive diarrhea 15 times the next day. I asked Randy for the money back as a minimal good gesture, but he said, “I owe you nothing.”RESPONSE TO OWNER:There are a LOT of submariners I have spoken to that do not like the VFW, & will not join for many reasons. Most notably, the long & arduous journey the VFW made it for submariners to be members. The arrogance and/or prejudice of the VFW (this post especially) was/is astounding. Nice canned political response, but we all know there is a LOT more to this story. You are wrong, Randy was not the only problem.

Worst fish fry, ever for $15.00!!Fish were cold, soggy, skimpy and on a steam table. They tasted like they had been sitting out for the entire day. I went to take 1 extra tartar sauce and was jumped on by this “warden” woman and asked if i paid for an extra one. I was getting it for my husband and told her that. Funny, how nice she became. They should have tartar sauce in a squeeze bottle on the table, not in skimpy little paper cup the size of a quarter. Fries were cold, too. Slaw was just ok. The coke we paid $2.00 for was good.
