I have been a member of Christian Financial Credit Union (CFCU) for over 15 years. Unfortunately, I have often felt more like a transaction than a valued member. My recent experience further reinforced that sentiment.
I visited the branch to establish a line of credit, but I was surprised and disappointed to find that the underwriters approved me for an amount that I believe to be inadequate. Their decision was primarily based on a late credit card payment during the COVID-19 pandemic, despite the fact that I have maintained all my accounts with CFCU and successfully paid off a car loan with them.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Jared S., the branch manager, who advocated for me during this process. Without his support, I would have considered closing all my accounts. It is disheartening to feel that my long-standing loyalty as a middle-class member holds little value to CFCU and its underwriters.
Thank you, Jared and the Lakeside branch, for your dedicated efforts on my behalf. However, I must express my disappointment with the leadership and underwriting policies that led to this experience.

Jered Shiveley serviced me on today 6/18 a really great meeting today, Jered was very warm and receiving, kind and Patience. Easy to speak with other concerns regarding our banking request.

Working with Matt was great. Any questions or concerns I had he was quick with answers, that being through phone calls and emails. I wouldn’t hesitate to go through him again in the future.

I’ve had a great experience with Christian Financial. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help with any questions I have. Their customer service feels more personal than what I’ve experienced at larger banks. Shoutout to a young lady who helped me during my last visit. She was patient, and friendly at my time there. I also appreciate the lower fees and competitive rates on loans and savings accounts. Their mobile app is easy to use, making it convenient to manage my finances on the go. Overall, I highly recommend this credit union to anyone looking for a more community-focused banking option.

Wow, I haven’t been to an institution quite like this one before. I felt very welcome and everyone was very friendly. I loved how simply they made things and how cooperative they were with me. 100% recommend

On my second auto loan thru them and have zero complaints. Had to call today to handle a few issues and I just want to give a big shout out to Tajuana for her help today, she answered several questions and had the most pleasant attitude a customer could ask for.

2024 and their main office is closed? (Vandyke). Nothing on their website, no information or directions to another branch.Terrible customer service. Was trying to pay off an auto loan. The teller was unable to explain why the balance on my statement was lower than the balance I was given? Had to me meet with the loan officer. When I explained my question to her she was unable to answer and got very rude. Even tried telling me my 6 year loan was 84 months? When I explained 6x12=72 months she asked me to leave. Would not give me her card or name.

Drive thru teller (102735) was the rudest person I've ever met. Instead of asking how I'm doing, or any greeting whatsoever just says "What am I supposed to do with this?"I sent 80 in cash with 2 dimes through the canister with my debit card & license. (A deposit slip isn't necessary for cash deposits of members - been policy the entire 17 years I've been a member.)Berated me for sending coins into the vessel without asking for an envelope, "As they can fall out if it magically opens in the vacuum chamber & they won't be responsible for covering it." Which is ridiculous & just outright RUDE as the canister should already have a pen, envelope, and deposit slip in it.

My visit to CFCU was quite painless. My loan officer was very knowledgeable, polite and prepared my loan application in an expedient manner. I was very impressed with her calm demeanor and her sense of humor while preparing my loan application.

This company deserves less than 0. Avoid doing business with them at all costs! I was a member for 8 years and it was an absolutely miserable experience every moment. This company has the worst customer service, practices, and procedures. Their lack of knowledge of their own processes is concerning. In my experience they make even the smallest transactions difficult for the customer (they made a loan payoff almost impossible. I was literally trying to send THEM money!). I work in finances and can assure you this is a poorly run and embarrassing financial institution. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
