Tawas Do It Best Hardware is a great and cool hardware store with very friendly, attentive, and helpful staff. It has all your hardware needs, including lots of neat things city stores don't have, from grill accessories and camping stuff to guns, fishing gear, and an awesome gift shop. They also have a lumber yard and very reasonably priced rental equipment. It is a great place all around where you can find amazing service from people who know what you need. The store is noted for being family-friendly, with a friendly dog often there to greet customers. For many, it is the best place and a particular hardware store they are impressed and happy with.
Great place for general hardware needs. Lots of kitschy home furnishing items. I only needed beam clamps and scored. While I wasn't helped by an employee to find what I needed, it was apparent the team was busy helping other customers. Also, not many choices in Tawas, so you'll likely find yourself here.

3 years in on a cabin build and these guys are the best. Helpful and knowledgeable. The best part is that they have local rental equipment.
