Older woman on the phone answered my call and was EXTREMELY rude. She answered the call and let out a sigh first thing. So rude. This location sucks. AVOID. Will drive an extra 20 minutes to another location!

Went in for a few items, the one woman on the floor was very helpful but I’m forgetting her name. She was amazing but Mina (who was checking me out) was very rude and chatted with her friend the entire time. I felt rushed and she looked at me like she was disgusted. I work in customer service and i understand long days but the way she behaved was unacceptable. After reading reviews i don’t understand how she still has a job there or why she’s still interacting with customers.

It felt like Nina had better things to do than cash me out for my one item…. Incredibly awkward when an associate is on their phone texting while “helping” you at the same time. Busy or not…. Super poor customer service. This is why I stay at the woodhaven location

The girl that helped me at the cash register was so rude. Her name was Mina and she was making fun of everything that I was buying. Even her coworker, the hijabi, I wish I got her name because last time I was there she helped color matched me for a concealer and was SOOOOO sweet and very funny, but in today's interaction. The hijabi was trying to have a convo with her and Mina was just being so negative. After she finished my transaction she just threw my bag at me. I've never had that issue at that location as everyone else has been so nice.

Who doesn't love Ulta

I had a bad experience at this Ulta location that I feel needs to be shared. I drove 30 minutes out of my way to exchange a foundation I had purchased at a different Ulta, only to be told by Carrie, blonde, fake lashes-every time she blinked, I thought she was sending morse code, fair skin but orange foundation (who I was shocked to find out is a manager) that the system showed it had already been exchanged. I calmly tried to understand what the issue might be, especially since this was clearly a mistake from another location, but Carrie couldn’t have cared less.
Instead of taking a moment to listen or help problem-solve, she continued greeting other customers around me, asking if they needed help while I stood there clearly needing assistance. Her attitude was dismissive and borderline passive-aggressive. Telling me I couldn’t return the item anywhere felt like a complete brush-off, with zero attempt at empathy or resolution.
Thankfully, I drove to the original store where I bought it, and within a minute, they found the issue, corrected it, and were relaxed and kind about the situation (they also ended up having the foundation stick I was looking for which was a bonus). The difference was night and day. That is what good customer service looks like. Carrie, on the other hand, should not be managing people if she can’t manage basic respect and human decency.
Edit: I just looked through the reviews, and I’m clearly not the first person to deal with this woman and her rude, passive-aggressive attitude. There are multiple complaints about her being unprofessional and downright unpleasant. Whoever owns this Ulta or whoever is responsible for managing her, really needs to reevaluate her position. You’re losing customers because of her. The fact that she still works there, despite so many negative reviews, honestly makes no sense.

I went to Ulta today and one of the workers named Brandy was really amazing with assisting me in creating a new skin care routine!! She has so much knowledge and gives her personal advice

I hate to leave bad reviews, but I just couldn't let this one slide. It would be one thing if it only happened once, but this happened twice at this location. I do a lot of online pickups because going into the store gives me high anxiety/panic attacks. But I'm still ordering from the brick and mortar store (which is good for the community). Sometimes things I order don't work out (because I can't test them) and I have to go in store to return them. This gives me major anxiety top of the anxiety I have of just going into a store. A few weeks ago, a blonde woman (with hair just past her shoulders) with big light (blue?) eyes waited on me. She's in her 30s-40s and has a managerial air about her. I didn't get her name. I had a return and somehow my anxiety was brought up and she snarked that I have to come into the store anyway to do an online pick up. That rubbed me the wrong way but I let it slide. Well Monday July 29th at around 12-2pm Ulta at Southland Mall, the same blonde woman waited on me. The system was down and instead of looking at my email receipt to key in the amount I paid to issue me a refund, she said to come back later...I called the Woodhaven location and they said their system was down but would take care of me as long as I had my email receipt to show how much I paid (with discounts etc). This blonde woman simply did not want to key in my return. I will not be coming back to the Southland location because of her. I will order online and have it delivered or will pick it up in Woodhaven or Allen Park. There's return rules and windows for a reason, and I am well within them and have a right to return an item that doesn't work for me without getting an attitude or even worse, in this case, a refusal to wait on me "because their system was down". Kudos to the customer service at the Woodhaven location for offering to take the time to key in a return instead of acting like they couldn't do anything like this blonde woman at Southland. As long as she's working there, this location won't get any more of my money.

Manager was extremely rude to her employee for no reason. I had to pick up an order for DoorDash. I’m a guy I would be in this store for a half hour looking for this product. The employee was very nice and offered to get it for me and it took her literally 2 seconds and when she came back the lady manager yelled at her for helping me. Saying I get paid to do that. I’m sorry but doesn’t she and you get paid as well to help people find your products?

Rarely go to Ulta because it's a bit overwhelming. But, today, I was hoping to find some new foundation, and Jonathan not only assisted me in making a recommendation but took the time to assess my needs and carefully color match me. When the color I needed was out of stock, he provided me with a small take-home sample and told me exactly how to "store to door" my order. Thanks so much, Jonathan!

The older lady with grey hair that appeared to be the manager made me extremely uncomfortable. she was dismissive and rude about simple questions i had asked, on top of giving me incorrect information. won’t be returning because of her.
