This store in particular is insanely over priced. The one in southgate is a little better and cleaner.

They are the OG of thrift stores. I've been coming here since I was a kid. I'm glad that they are still around. You can always find some treasures here.

I would have given NO stars if possible! The store is filthy and has a gross smell, a lot of the clothes have stains on them or look like they should have been tossed instead of tagged and sold, the cashier was completely rude and sat talking rudely about another customer to the customer she was taking care of to the point the lady heard her and left with her child! This place either needs an entire update including the rude and disrespectful employees or shut down completely. Feel like I need a very long shower after leaving there it's so gross. The Southgate one is A LOT cleaner and employees are helpful and nice.

We just moved here and were already familiar with the sales. When my famiky went in for our usual shopping trip, the cashier (who insisted she was the stand-in manager for the evening) Diana refused to discount any of the color of the week tag items and claimed "only the end caps" with the actual colored tags were on sale. We had a full cart and ended up leaving with only 5 items! Tried calling the store, they just want to keep hanging up on me without actually answering the phone. This was embarrassing as there were other cutomers in line, one of which also walked out when they heard this lady's excuse for not clearancing items.

Pros: Overall the prices here are decent, not nearly as bad as I’ve seen at other big name thrift stores. I’d say usually under $15 per item. I have found a lot of good stuff here but you do have to dig around for it. I like that they update the front racks with themed selections. Decently organized. The staff is nice.
Cons: I will agree with another review that the price tags are often hard to read here. I don’t think i’ve seen any stained clothing, but I did see a broken teacup this week. I wish their picture frames/mirrors section was more accessible, I don’t think anyone wants to dig through that big pile. The air can be a bit stuffy especially in the summer.

Value World in Taylor, Michigan, was an assault on the senses. The air was thick and suffocating, making it hard to breathe. The pricing tags were hand written illegible scribbles . Despite the chaos, prices were outrageously high for items that belonged in a landfill. Save yourself the agony and avoid this dismal excuse for a store at all costs.

This place used to be a thrift shop, but now it seems to think it is new retail with how high they have jacked up the prices. No, used should not be priced the same or higher than retail. I gave it another shot today after a couple years of not being in due to…wait for it…HIGH PRICES. Now they are even higher than last time I was in. I laughed as I walked out and won’t ever be back. I will also be telling the friends I have that the prices are still somewhere in the clouds so keep shopping elsewhere until this store uses some of those profits to buy a clue.

Every time I shop here it seems like the prices just keep getting higher. Some items at outrageous levels for a thrift store. Last visit found items double and even triple the online price. I think these guys forgot that they are a thrift store, not a retail merchant. I will not be returning, save your time and money and just shop at a different thrift store, there are plenty others to choose from.

This store is absolute trash. They price items higher than the prices would be if they were new. Those who price items are wildly delusional. This location sells clothing that is ripped, broken, and stained. The location is always disorganized and dirty. Toys are scattered all over. Something has changed at this location in the last few years for the absolute worst. It’s very sad.

One sentence summary: Extremely disorganized and over priced, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!I came over and hour away from Toledo to shop. I used to come all the time and loved it, absolutely not anymore and will not be back. Evidently something has significantly changed since my last trip.As a general statement to cover the entire store, NOTHING was sorted by size. It was sorted by womens, mens, boys, girls, babies, shoes. From there, they sorted the type of clothes (pants, shorts, shirts, coats), so I’ll give them that. That’s it.Other than that, the entire huge section was a mixture of the same type of clothing. For example: womens pants section was leggings, jeans, sweats, scrubs, work slacks, etc., all mixed together. For a huge selection of pants, it’s extremely time consuming to look for the right style of pants you want. Then to cluster f it further, it’s not sorted by size. Every size was mixed together. You have to literally piece through every single item in your section to find the type of pants you like, then hope it may be your size. If you do happen to come across something you like that is your size, very good chance you’ll still put it back bc it’s significantly over priced for USED clothing. Huge waste of time.Value world prides themselves in the “huge selections” they have… it is very apparent why the selection and amount of items they have is so high. Takes forever to find something you’d like, then it’s over priced if you do like it.Spent 2 hours there, walked out with 2 shirts for my kids that were honestly not worth what I paid. I bought them bc I figured “I just wasted 2 hours of my time shopping here, plus an hour commute each way… 4 hours for absolutely nothing. Might as well leave with SOMETHING.”How disappointing. It’s a matter of time before they close. Look at the other reviews before wasting your time and money. I should’ve before making the trip but figured it was the same as it used to be, why bother checking ya know?WRONG!
