I always buy something even when I come to window shop! Love every bookseller I’ve had an interaction with, and their recommendations have helped me branch out from my usual reading habits.

The staff was very friendly and amazingly helpfull with ordering large print books for me. Recently, they ordered the original, unabridged "Adventures of Mark Twain", and "Grimm's Fairy Tails". I had enjoyed these as a child, and look forward to reading them again! Although the "Grimm's Fairy Tails" are so scary! Whew Also, as I live out of state now, they sent me these books, with no postal charge! Really great. I look forward to moving back to Traverse City.

I am very pleased to have gone into the store today. The woman who helped me curate my reading list was a pleasure to work with. She was very knowledgeable and personable. My next few book purchases will be made using the list we came up with. I will be back in town in a little less than a month and I hope to be back to purchase more from the list we made. Today I grabbed Ernest Hemingway The Sun Also Rises and Aristotle Nicomachean Ethics. Very happy.

After visiting in person, I ordered a book to be sent to my home. Such a quick and easy experience, as well as having the book in paperback AND hardcover. Also they have free shipping for those who spend over 25 dollars which is a nice option as most hardcovers go over that mark:)I was super pleased as I really wanted this book and love to support local ❣️

We arrived in Traverse City and it absolutely let loose pouring rain, and we were trying to make the best of it. We noticed a number of shops had pictures of Where's Waldo on the doors, and a quick search revealed that it was a hunt put on by Brilliant Books to locate the Waldos hiding in various stores. So we picked up a passport and got to work. It was a great way to pop in and out of the rain and have some fun. When we turned in the passport at Brilliant Books, the little yelper got a coupon to purchase a book and some fun Where's Waldo? stickers. We enjoyed perusing the lovely shop and had quite the time deciding what to buy. Books, of course, plus additional gift options are available. The children's section is very nice with a good selection. Staff was friendly.

my family and i stopped here on a whim and appreciated the friendly staff, excellent selection, and warm independent bookstore feel. the staff members were also very sweet and welcoming of our dog who is still learning how to be polite (not barking/whining) in public.

Great bookstore with a varied selection and friendly staff. Gets a bit claustrophobic when it’s busy, but that comes with the territory in downtown Traverse City. I always make sure to stop by whenever I’m in town.

This is a really good normal bookstore. Clean and the staff is very helpful. It only gets three stars because I rate bookstores on what makes them unique. If you are looking for standard titles this isn't a bad place at all. Didn't fit my tastes which area little more obscure. This place does deliver on basic needs so add a star if that's your goal

Book Lovers Delight! Great selection of books, friendly staff, and eclectic atmosphere. While others are out on Front street shopping for clothes, I’d rather bury my nose in a good book and this was the perfect place to visit while on vacation in this beautiful city!

I ordered a book here on 'Shop your community day.' Some participating businesses in our town donate a portion of sales proceeds to a selection of nonprofit's (customer picks which organization). The book I ordered is the first in a series, the series is 'Charlotte Holmes ' I ordered it to be delivered to my house because they only had hardcover copies in store and I just prefer paperbacks. Love me some young adult novels. For a smaller business, this store has a great selection. I also bought some Jane Austen themed mints 'Pride and Peppermint,' if it's Austen-themed it's for me!

Remember book stores? How it felt to walk into a place and smell the newly-printed editions? To be in a space where you are around smart, kind, empathetic people who care about the world? And real people who have real recommendations for books? That’s what this place is—something important and special. Stopped here with the family on our first visit to Traverse City. Employees were so kind. They talked to us with real interest. Walked out with not only books, but my favorite shirt ever: “Fight Evil / Read Books.”If you believe there is still hope for the world, go here. It will remind you that you’re not alone.
