Had a nice little time here back in november of 2023 that I'll remember. Just lunch but it was delicious. Felt like we opened a door to a past time in history that can never be reclaimed but is somehow here. Like time stopped. The owner and his wife were extra nice and won't forget them. This place could be a movie set for old hollywood but you can actually buy things here. The best maple sugar candy I have had. Brands you just can't find anymore combined with the new. Antiques abound with a few showcases to walk around and basic needs articles too. BTW the door is on a tight spring so close it easily as to not disturb the peace there like I did. They sell liquor and wine by the bottle and have a little deli counter. If I could create my perfect world this place would be within two country blocks.

Had the best time visiting. The owners are lovely and gave a great history lesson of the place. Recommend the homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Walked into Old Mission on the day after Thanksgiving to find this old timey store smelling heavenly of roasting pork. There were homemade cherry pies and beautiful cookies that were huge with very tasty cinnamon rolls in the case. For sure you can get many great choices for lunch or dinner here from the best corned beef or brisket to a deep dish pizza. The woman who owns the store is always pleasant and accommodating to my allergy. This is really a hidden gem for the best casual meals on the peninsula. I’m planning a coffee and cookie walk soon in the warm and interesting dining area. Always a great stop to enjoy.

What an absolute treat!! The Old Mission General Store is a step back in time. If they dont have it, you probably dont need it. The proprietor is a hoot and a bit of a historian. Prices are a bit high, but it is a convenience store and I didn't mind paying. Can't wait to go back just to listen to James (Shamus) spin yarns about the people, places and products from the past.

What a great nostalgic store. A must stop and see. People are friendly and serve you well. Like going into a Free museum. Curiosities abound…..

This place is so much fun to visit, especially with kids/ teens who have never seen some of the old times items ( like telephones with cords)! The owner or maybe just the old man running the place is extremely rude but the fantastic ice cream makes up for it.

Amazing place, great history, and even better food! 10/10 recommend ordering the sweet cream pretzel! "Shamus" is the best!

Stopped in for a snack after hitting the winery. I was worried because we had read some iffy reviews. Let me tell you, this place is a gem. It's a general store, it's not a Meijer. We had ice cream and a chicken salad sandwich. Jim was SUPER pleasant and was very kind to us, told us to make ourselves at home. I will definitely return. Don't listen to the Karen's!!!!

I was out having a beautiful evening with my family. I was super excited to take my six and four-year-old here to try their barrel pickles. It was quite busy so I ran in myself while my family stayed in the car, when I got to the counter, there was an elder man by the name of Jim, I believe. There was a younger gentleman who was sent up there to help him, and instead of helping me, he turned to the kid and Begin to ask him why he was there who let him come in and just drilling him in front of the entire store, not kindly either, making a scene. You could see the poor kid, Cowher, and you could also see it was not the first time hes been yelled at by this man. I couldn’t help but Step in. I praised the young boy for coming in when we live in a world where nobody even wants to show up to work. And that he should never let a boss treat him like that. To my disbelief, Jim turned to me and started yelling at me.. questioning if I was an employee there and I said no I was a customer. And I proceeded to say that I will never return with my business, and I could not believe that he was talking to an employee like that an embarrassing him in front of everybody. And as I walked out, he proceeded to yell at me that I was aunemployed fudgie. And I was what was wrong with America. I will never return. It is sad because I am actually a local, and I’ve lived here my entire life. My kids were very disappointed. Unfortunately, from the information I have collected, I believe he is one of the owners. Do better old mission store! Treat your staff with kindness before you don’t have anymore!

Very cool if you like antiques, they do have a pretty good section of snack foods, ice cream, wine and beer. It appeared that they have pizza and burgers made to order but it was busy and had a long line so we didn’t stay too long.

Wow. Perhaps the most trauma-filled visit to a store ever. The owner (must have been the owner as no mere employee would get away with it) has a violent temper. Screamed at me for coming in to check on the progress of my sandwich being made. Mind you, I hadn't said anything yet! His demeanor was so deranged (and I don't think that is an exaggeration) that I understood right away that it wasn't me. It was him. The sandwich was good, the store itself is very interesting, but I will not subject myself such abuse ever again.

Such a great atmosphere. A little piece of history with some modernization where needed. Highly recommend coming up for a Zub. Always hand created and made fresh. It can take a little while to get your order, so be prepared with extra time. Well worth it though!
