September 2023 by Always Right
Didn't want to go to the dealership to handle an oil change where they would charge an arm and a leg. Went to Valvoline first with my own oil since my car only takes one kind and they would do the labor while I stay in the car. After 10 minutes, Valvoline said they can't do the oil change since the hole the oil comes out of has been stripped over time. I left and called Automotive Authority on the same street as they were still open. They said they can do the labor if I bring my own oil - no problem - and for the same price. I made an appointment, was greeted with pleasant customer service, and after 10 minutes, they said I would have to come back due to the same reason but that they would order a part that would enable them to complete the oil change. I came for round 2 and not only did they complete my oil change with a new filter and the extra part, they also found a couple of smaller issues underneath the car that they handled free of charge. I will be coming here for all of my oil changes going forward!!

This is the best shop I have ever been to. Straight forward and honest. Also the shop dog makes my day when I go in. Tim was able to fix the delay in my horn that was driving me nuts. I cannot say enough good things about this company.

What was originally estimated as several weeks job turned into months of a waiting fiasco. Took my Audi vehicle into Automotive Authority for a door repair after a botched job by Dotten Collision in November 2022 but didn't get the vehicle back working until April 2023. Owner apologized for foreign parts shortage and supply delays understandably but such an extensive delay without much constructive progress cost me in more ways than one. Vehicle switching, rental cars and wasted trips for multiple delays and consistently missed targets on the repair progress. One of my most frustrating automotive experiences of a lifetime. Having the vehicle stored outdoors on their lot for months and scratched up by who-knows-what didn't help matters as I needed to address those out-of-pocket at Service King. I also incurred a dead battery cost that the owner still charged me after not being operated so long even after I suggested the vehicle be operated weekly to avoid that situation - what a kick in the gutt. Nearly $1600 after 6 months of grief, hundreds in rental + wasted insurance payments + looks like at least $1K more to address paint scratches. It would've cost me less overall by originally just heading to the dealership and saved us all that grief that no one needed to experience. Pros - open late hours, owed up to ultimately complete repair without necessitating legal action. Cons - poor communication, damage exposure, inconsistent estimates. Unfortunately I would not return for any service after so many mishaps and lost confidence from this encounter. Why fret or take a chance when there are so many other choices that take pride and deliver positive results.

They are very honest, friendly, and don't nickel and dime you. They refused to take money from me on 3 separate occasions because they said it didn't take barely any time (even though I know it did).I am not related to the owner or anything, these guys are just really a great place to get your car serviced - I love the lounge and vibe they have too - will be going here as my shop

Mechanic shop or dealership? An advertisement was posted on Facebook for a Mercedes 2015 C-300 4MATIC. A day ago we went to take a look at the car and negotiate what we believed to be a fair purchase price for the car. The man that was acting as the middle man told us that he would have to talk to the owner of the car about the purchase price. After deciding on a price that we are comfortable with, we decided to come back the next day to test drive it. The gentleman handed us the car keys and we went for a test drive. After taking the car for no more than a quarter mile, the car started stuttering on every gear change. This caused the car to shake and thrash around. We were so worried that the car was going to cause an accident that we took it back almost immediately. Arriving back we were shaken up and proceeded to hand the keys back. Soon after we left and awaited a phone call explaining to us what was wrong. What actually happened was a call that stated “there was nothing wrong”. In transition, I exclaimed that they did us a disservice by allowing us to drive a car which had an obvious mechanical issue. The phone was hung up. A car that has mechanical issues being sold at an establishment that fixes mechanical issues?Nothing about the situation felt right with many red flags only being forthcoming after the phone call. Please for your sake, do not purchase any of their “client’s” cars.

Told me that they had to remove the body from the frame to repair the a/c lines for my Ford van and gave me an absurd quote. Uh, no.Took it home and looked into myself. Found that you can order the lines, they easily disconnect and are replaceable.

I took my car in over some weird mishap where I filled my tank seemingly yet no gas went in so my car would not run because to my surprise was still on empty when I thought it was full with a broken gas gauge. Anyway my point is I needed a thermostat so I got that done but did not realize their $105.00 diagnosis fee is added on top if the final cost I understood it as it had to at least be over that amount to work on of maybe I would owe it if it was less then that and for them to look it over. Anyway it cost me $340.00 to fix my thermostat which was done at the end of the second day my car was there. So I waited 2 days and like I have never experienced anywhere else I had to pay the extra $105.00 on top of the total cost. They also charged me $25.00's for gas yet the gauge was just above empty as soon as I got in it and I drove 12 miles and the empty light came on. My mini van in the City gets 16 miles to the gallon so less then a gallon and they told me they put 6 gallons in, like I told them that is a bold face lie! They also said you were out of gas we put some in and drove for 8 miles, why would you have to drive for 8 miles to check anything out?! Zero recommendations here plus they are very short with you when asking any questions.
