I went to Benihana in Troy last night to celebrate my birthday and use my coupon. I WISH I WOULD HAVE READ OTHER REVIEWS FIRST. This location is nothing like the Haggerty location. The server did not clear our plates so we had to stack them on another table. The cook was good with his interactions but seemed to have issues when asked for things like more seasoning, butter, onions etc. We had to ask for extras because they did not have enough onions or zucchini for the entire table to begin. They did not have salad dressing so my friends were not able to get a salad. And worse, my server did not offer me ice cream for my birthday nor did they sing the song. There was another person celebrating a birthday at the table and they did nothing for her either. Our server seemed to have a bit of an attitude. I wish I had paid attention to her name but her attitude was so off putting that I tried to ignore her. I will not choose this location again and stay with my Haggerty location. Only reason we came here was that it was a central location.

Was in the Troy area and one of my family members wanted Hibachi. This was my first time to a Benihana, and probably my last. Not one thing stood out to make me even consider going again.

Hardly any of the staff is Japanese or even Asian anymore. the entire atmosphere has changed and the service is not as good as it used to

Benihana has fell ALL THE WAY OFF!! It’s like they cook the food and rush you out!! I asked the chef if I could have a side of garlic butter and he told me to ask the waitress, when she brought it they were in to go cups. After the food was cooked the guy turn on a fan that blew cold air over us and our food. I had to ask a worker to turn the fan off so that I could eat. When he turned it off, he came with containers and bags, and we had just started eating!! Our waitress Beatrice was okay. I informed her at the beginning of the order that I wanted to place a to go order. She never came back to our table to take the order. But instead to bring the bill. Not sure if she didn’t care for me and my family or not but she surely came out with 2 bowls of rice for the 2 ladies that was at our table and didn’t charge them. And again, didn’t take my order. This will be my last time patronizing this location on a business and leisure level. There’s other Japanese restaurants that are better food wise and customer service wise.

I love hibachi, I save it for a special occasions and this experience was terrible. Do not waste your money here there are so many better options in the area. I went on a Thursday at 6:30 for my birthday. We had a reservation and were seated for an hour before the chef came to start making our differ. Someone at our table ordered vegetable fried rice so half of our table got all there food before he started yo make the rest. Vegetarian is not a food allergy it doesn’t need to be cooked separately. We were seated for over 3 hours. The waitress never asked us if we wanted another drink until the end of him cooking. Also the chef didn’t interact with us at the table at all, it was my birthday I was Very disappointed. He didn’t do the fun egg tricks or anything neat while cooking. I wouldn’t recommend spending your money here at all. Also heads up they charge a convenience fee for take out orders, makes no sense to me.

We were fortunate to have a hard-working server and a good chef. Unfortunately, being penalized and because we had 8 people was uncalled for. Everyone of us were willing and able to tip generously.

3/6 of the people in our party got food poisoning. 2.5hr to get food. Multiple people left after getting seated because food was taking too long. Another couple sitting with us asked for the bill for 45

The waiter was so slow. It was 2 hours until we got the salad and soup. We talked to the manager asking for escalation and he did nothing. I believe this will be the last time I consider eating there.Also, the restaurant was not a clean. Really doesn't live up to the standards.Also the host of the door was locking proper attitude.

This place is not what is use to be! Have gone here with family for over 20 years. If you go expect terrible service and to be there a minimum of 3 hours. I’m not sure what happened but the service is terrible and takes forever. Majority of the chefs overcook the food and now just load everything with garlic butter thinking that’s suppose to help. Highly advise going else where. Sadly this Benihana is now trash. Will not be returning.

If you eat here, hold on to the menu and compare it with your bill. The bill will be higher than the posted menu price. The waitress tried to lie to me by saying the cost on the bill is the menu price plus tax but tax comes AFTER the subtotal (not before). She also claimed that chicken fried rice is a $6-7 up-charge per person cost over the steamed rice that comes with the meal. I respect waitstaff but I don’t like being lied to and will not return for that reason for my birthday next year.

Srvice very slow, one waiter for almost entire area we sat in. In addition, Benihana gives you a $30 birthday coupon, but if your birthday is on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, it's not valid, how ridiculous is this???????
