Rude disrespectful customer service wait on hold and get transferred until they lose the call wasted hours on the phone to get told the same thing the people at the branch said...had to get a manager and have someone on speaker phone to get the issue solved.

This bank has extremely low quality communication and notification with their customers. I learned today by letter from LMCU, that my checking account had been overdrawn for several months. This was certainly my mistake and yet I was under the impression I was carrying a low balance and my account was just inactive. I looked in my email and found just one notification and that notification was several months after the account had been in overdrawn status. Because of my mistake my credit has been damaged severely and it's my problem to fix that and so I say to you beware of Lake Michigan credit Union they do not have the same type of customer service that you would find at Chase or any full service Bank who would definitely email and call and ring every warning Bell they could find so that you could rectify the situation.

Very good customer service. Long Lake branch is always helpful. I appreciate their hours are a little longer than my former credit union and when I've had to use customer service line the hold wait wasn't long and my questions were answered quickly.

Relocated to MI and needed a bank. LMCU came highly rated so I began the process to open a checking account. My mistake was to apply online. The response back was that my SS# did not match so I was asked to supply other verifications. I stopped into the Holland branch, whom was very helpful in uploading documents that should have helped complete the process. Alexandra was the person I communicated with through email, who denied all my attempts to open a checking account, eventually telling me that if I had applied in person, I would not have had an issue. She did not understand that I was in fact in town. To make a very frustrating story short, my husband and I made an appt to open the account in person. The process was friendly and successful. What I don't understand was that I was told my SS# did not match and when I was there in person, they had my correct SS# and it was no problem to open an account. It appeared to me, a clear attempt to deny me because she thought I was out of town and seemed like she was making up false reasons to deny me. Alexandra made what should have been an easy business transaction difficult only because she thought I was not in town to do this in person. This business almost missed out on a very large transaction as we has just sold our home and I wanted to business with a local bank. I just want people to be aware that even though you can apply for an account online and be from out of state, you will not be judged fairly. This woman left a very bad taste in my mouth.

I've been a LMCU customer since January or February, I believe, but this was my first time actually going to a branch. I needed something notarized, and their notary services are free for customers. I did make an appointment online beforehand but I don't believe you have to; I think they accept walk-ins as well. The branch itself is open, they have signs that say masks are required. Everyone there was wearing a mask properly too which was good. The notarizing itself only took about 5 or 10 minutes. They also have a bathroom there for customers which I appreciated, a lot of places have theirs closed nowadays. Overall I'm a big fan of LMCU in general, too - I get 3% back from my checking account every month, and you can have up to $15k in your checking.

I love Lake Michigan Credit Union. Great interest rate on checking! We are on our third mortgage with this Company after a series of moves and they all went very well. The Troy branch has a fantastic staff, all very friendly and professional. I highly recommend them and hope they expand in this area and open more branches.

worst place for a mortgage these people are so confused! they want something different everyday and no communication you have to beg for someone to call you back. months and months, had to find another place to live and hope we did not loose the home we were trying to buy. go someplace any place else but here. hate to give then one star they do not deserve it.

We obtained a construction loan through LMCU and the process could not have been easier. Brent Green is super helpful and nice to work with. The branch tellers except for the one that sits in the chair are so helpful and nice, the chair lady could use some people skills...Great experience and you won't find a better place for "earning" on your money than this CU.

Overall helpful staff. The female teller who sits at the short desk, however, is slightly less friendly than the most surly of DMV workers. I would recommend avoiding her unless you have a scrub brush in your car to clean off the thick sarcasm you will be caked with.

I got a referral from a loan officer at Wells Fargo because The loan amount I needed wasn't a large amount & told me a credit union would be best for what I needed. The customer service was horrible, my loan officer was very deceiving & misleading. he didn't return phone calls after collecting the deposit and my information. I thought he didn't work there anymore; after calling customer service I had to contact his supervisor in order to get in contact with him. Wasted two months of my time for nothing. I wish I had a better outcome, I would not recommend them.

L. M. C. U. offers no service whatsoever. Our file was "lost" for months. It was a nightmare. I thought I could rely on this office. I was sorely mistaken. We wasted 6 months we will never get back. It was quicker and easier to pay off our home ourselves. They lost our business and didn't seem to care. I find that really sad. I now distrust all financial institutions. All they care about is fees and putting it to you as best they can.

Longest, most difficult mortgage I have ever endured. The lack of communication is absolutely unacceptable.
