Have had great experiences in the past but my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. Teller would not allow me to withdraw from my account because I didn't have a drivers license. I had a valid state ID (which I have been able to use in the past). Not sure if the teller was confused or if this is a new policy. The teller said there was nothing that could be done because the manager was not there. Left without making my transaction. Very frustrated

Walked in, everyone was on the phone, no one greeted me, just had to wait there, I was the only customer in the bank BTW

I had a fantastic experience with Linda Olstyn. I recently bought a new car and of course the dealership offered me an 8.75%, which I took for pure convenience. I came to Genisys and saw Linda, who got me approved for more than 3% lower! The process took less than 48 hours, and barely any documents were required. I just wanted to share my experience with this branch, Derek was an amazing help and very professional in explaining everything I needed to know about home equity loans. He was with us in every step of the way until we got approved!
I will definitely recommend every one I know to go see him if they get in the same situation I was in.

There is nothing wrong with this branch, they are all nice but GENISYS has horrific policies. Even if you deposit a check that releases immediately, they hold it for an EXTENDED period. When I called to explain why I needed the money now, they released it as if they could have done it the entire time with no hassle. Why wouldn’t they override the hold the first day when I explained this?
These days money is tight for everyone and they are denying their customers access to their funds that are typically instantaneous at other banks. My partner gets his checks days in ADVANCE not 5-7 business days after I deposit MY check.

If you're a graduating student with a job offer pursuing an auto or other loan, highly recommend *against* doing business with Genisys. Go to MSUFCU- much easier process and they're far more understanding of your financial/employment situation.

No coin machine here last time I was in so had to go to Rochester Hills location to complete my business. Not convenient.

Given more time to select a bank for a loan for my furnace, I would NOT have picked this one. The website and app (if they work at all) are awful to use and navigate, the customer service has been meh, and the extra $10 charge for every payment is absurd. No part of my experience with this credit union has been positive.
