No employees were around to help everyone was just helping themselves to find what they needed. Customer services were not friendly aside from asking if you want to open a JC card.

I’m white and went there with my Mexican friend to return a pair of pants and the black lady at the counter accused us of stealing it because we didn’t have the receipt.awful customer service and will never return to this location.

The store was a mess. I think Kroger gets more customers in an hour than jc penny gets all day. We shopped around but didn’t find anything worth getting. The American mall isn’t dead yet, it’s suffering in the ICU though. I burnt more calories and saved more money than shopping online.

Update: JCPenney Salon has had over a month to rectify the issues from my initial review, phone calls, and emails. Never even received a chance to speak with the location's manager. I will not be returning.
Horrible experience in salon at this location. Unprofessional and extremely long wait times. Not only did we have to wait extremely long without an apology, we were also overcharged. The stylist Clarynn was very rude. The receptionist at the time ignored us for 5 minutes at the desk while she scrolled on her phone, when she finally answered she still offered no help. Will not be returning.

I have recently starting shopping at JCP again and have been pleasantly surprised by changes since I was last there. My only issue is that the Troy, MI store is not open until 11 a.m. on Saturday. They lost my business twice because of that since I needed to find something earlier in the morning.

Staff is friendly and helpful; when you can find them. The clothes are of low quality and there is less selection, the store overall is in tremendous disrepair as well as kiosks, displays, registers. There were bins all over as the roof had a leaking problem.

Love getting my jeans and active wear leggings there, but way too hot to shop in there they need to do something about that cuz I walked out after trying on clothes it was way too hot and irritating.
