It was easy to rent the truck. The staff was super helpful and friendly. I appreciated working with them. They were also patient as this was the first time I had rented a truck via U-haul in a long time (several years at least).

I recently rented a a U-Box trailer from the troy location. I just wanted to say that Colleen was so helpful. I didn’t know a thing about trailer hitches or pulling a trailer and she was so kind and helpful. She was patient with me and took the time to explain everything I needed to know to get me on the road. When I returned the trailer today she was just as nice and helpful. Thank you Colleen and U Haul!

This is not directed toward the overall staff… who I would easily give 5 stars… they were incredibly pleasant and helpful.
Asst. Manager Colleen on the other hand was straight rude and actually pretty mean. We own a customer facing business in Troy and I was downright shocked by the treatment I received as a paying customer… who by the way spent over $1000 with U-Haul on this last transaction.
We lost a company van in an accident and were relying on U-Haul while our van was being replaced. Among other things…Our company delivers mobility equipment to elderly and persons with disabilities. I wanted to extend my rental of a cargo van for another week… Colleen made me feel like I was a parasite… She made me feel like it was a huge inconvenience… It was shocking to be honest. In my business we would be more than happy to extend a rental!!! Not here!!! She acted as though they had never had anyone rent a van for more than a day!! She was also very angry when I didn’t know how long I was going to need the cargo van… I tried to explain to her that our van had been totaled and we weren’t sure when our van would be replaced… She didn’t care and didn’t want to help.
After my interaction with Colleen, I made the decision to return the van early… I was feeling sick about giving this company more money… It’s a shame though because I did have a really good experience with the overall staff…
The worst part of this whole experience and this is actually quite embarrassing… I have referred this organization a ton of business… We own a mobility equipment supply company… And anytime someone needs a hitch installed on their car for a vehicle lift for their mobility equipment, we always send them to U-Haul on Maple in Troy… It’s sickening to think of how much business I have sent this place.

I returned the truck on-time on June but extra charges were added on July...... the check-out process was not transparent at all.
When I called U-haul office, they did not resolved it and gave me all kinds of excuses.....

Place is very understaffed. They had 1 lady manning both check out stations and taking phone calls. Line was out the door and took half an hour to check out
