Just booked a 10x15 unit to assist with my move back to Grand Rapids. Mali Everest was a pleasure to work with! Very informative, insightful, and responsive. She gave me a tour of her facility; clean, orderly, and reflected her attentive and careful management. I feel confident my household goods will be safe and sound!

Overall, the facilities are clean. The units are nice and clean, and the staff is friendly.
Let me tell you something though, I have had storage units at multiple facilities around Grand Rapids, including with extra space storage, mini storage depot, Devon self storage and now National Storage.
And never before National Storage have I had an experience where a week after making the payment on my storage unit, I STILL didn’t have access to my unit. 😡
As I’m writing this, I still do not have access to my unit, despite being told by multiple people at the company that they can see the payment was processed to my account and that my access should be restored.
I even went as far as to change the code we were using in the event that was the issue, but even after changing the code, I still do not have access. 🤬 and now it’s getting cold out and all of my fallen winter stuff is locked in a storage unit that I cannot access despite making the payment. So please use my situation as a cautionary tale to either pay your storage unit months in advance so you never get your access suspended or to avoid this company

after doing our big move into my units i came back the next day and the onsite manager came and introduced herself to me and she seemed so sweet, i felt completely safe with my late fathers stuff being kept there for the time being 🩷

Facilities are spotless, well maintained, and easily accessible. The staff are responsive to questions and reply promptly. I would definitely store with them in the future.

Great storage facility! The facility itself is extremely clean, very spacious, and very secure. Mali was so kind and a wonderful help in assisting me with my unit; I would recommend this location indefinitely!

Clean and organized facility. Staff was extremely helpful and even switched our U-Haul drop off location there so we didn’t have to drive it off the campus.

Tried to reserve a storage unit on website and was not allowed due to spam risk because my email was “invalid”. I have used that email for 20 plus years and never had issues with hundreds of other businesses.
So i called to reserve a space. The person on the phone was not very helpful. She was eager to sign me up right away. She told me she was not sure if it was climate controlled - website said it was - she did not inform me of any discounts - there is at 6 and 12 months prepaid - she told me there would be additional mandatory charges for insurance, and i told her I had homeowners that covered it - she informed me at very end of transaction of $25 administrative fee to “get me in the system (I HATE hidden costs!).
I want communication up front and total prices as advertised. I am SO SICK of bait and switch nickel and dime price practices. It is tiresome and a disrespectful WASTE OF TIME.
I will not be using National for my storage needs and do not recommend them.

The person that helped us at the Walker Location , could not have been any more kind! She was helpful and knowledgeable also. We came in and got our promotional price and were so satisfied with the service and help we received. There's even a restroom on site, and maps on the walls inside. We appreciate it all, Thank you so much.

They were great. The manager was very patient and well informed. She showed us multiple options which helps because it’s hard to figure out what you need without seeing it first hand. She covered all of paperwork in detail to ensure we understood everything. The facility is very nice, well kept and have carts on hand to assist in moving your items. Highly recommend.
