I took my vehicle in for transmission problems. Dave replaced it for a new transmission. He also did other needed repairs. The vehicle now drives and runs great. They even made concessions to accommodate and help us. They warranted and guaranteed their work. Great job. Keep up the good work. Dave and his wife, Maria, were very

Terrible service owner and wife and RACIST!!!! I have white friends who have all had pleasant experiences with them but as soon as I walked in he was extremely dry and rude didnāt even say hi. I literally asked to use his wifeās pen to sign a document and she told me ā I donāt let people use my pens because of germsā and had a very nasty expression on her face as if I was dirty which is crazy because his wife is hideous so anyway yeah if youāre black stay away from this place

DO NOT take your cars here Dave will tell you that you have time to pay your car and turn around and put a mechanic lien on the car and will not answer the phone while he stills have your property. His wife is very rude as well if you question anything he is doing to your car he will threaten to call the police on you! I will not recommend I still have no answers on a car I am leasing and pay a car note for. All he wants to do is to sell your car so I do not recommend you will be getting a lawyer like meš¤¬

I got a flat tire and even though they donāt do tires they helped me change my tire. They were so nice and kind. If I ever need service on my car I would go there just for the people.

Dave did great work fixing my cars! I thought I had a transmission leak but it was due to one of those jiffy lube places over tightened the oil filter housing. His prices are fair . I'll definitely will bring my cars to his shop in the future to get repaired.

I went to Dave & Maria because my Ford F150 backend was dancing at quick acceleration an deceleration. Everyone said I don't know, maybe trans, converter. Dave solved the problem same day & more than likely avoided a serious accident.
I have decided he is my mechanic.

Brought my beloved but timeworn 2011 Camry in after noticing a bit of a "whine" while driving which opened up concerns about the transmission. I do some of the work myself and have modified some of her scheduled maintenance with an exit strategy in mind; with her age and mileage, any cost prohibitive repairs would be eschewed, so I didn't know what to expect.
Maria greeted me as I explained what I thought was going on, and couldn't have been kinder, as well as honest. I did agree to pay for a diagnostic test to be conducted (with the fee waived if any work was performed with the shop), and was told I'd be contacted in a few hours with any results.
Upon said contact, to my delightful surprise, no issues were identified, either raised by me or otherwise. I certainly was in a position where I would've indulged some type of work if I was told it was necessary, but Maria insisted nothing was an issue and wouldn't charge me for something I didn't need.
While I do not hope I am back any time soon for obvious reasons, when the time does come I will be bringing my vehicle to this location as long as I am in the area for any type of work they will perform.

I recommend Dave & Maria's AAMCO every chance I get! Over the years we have brought my daughter's car there for 3 separate complex issues. (She has a high mileage 2016 Chevy Trax that we were trying to get to last until she finished college.) Every experience with them has been nothing short of exceptional!! I thank God that there are people like them in the world. They truly have been a blessing to us with their expertise, kindness and honesty!
1st Issue - Car wouldn't shift past 2nd gear.
March 2022 - Our previous regular shop said it was most likely the transmission and recommended we take it to the dealer or a transmission shop. I called local dealerships and a few speciality shops who couldn't look at it for weeks and said it could be a month or more to complete the work. My daughter needed a vehicle to commute to school daily so this was terrible news! I was desperate and upset by the time I called AAMCO in Sterling Heights. After explaining the situation Dave said, "First of all relax, everything will be ok. Bring it to me and I will get it looked at within a day and let you know what is going on." In less than a week it was repaired and back to us! The transmission and torque converter needed to be replaced. Luckily we had a lifetime drivetrain warranty that covered it!
2nd Issue - Check Engine Light on
March 2022 - Right after he got the shifting issues fixed, we asked if he could keep the vehicle to figure out what was going on with the check engine light, which had been on for over 6 months. A prior shop that had looked at it couldn't figure it out but said it really wasn't anything to worry about, However, we were concerned that if new issues came up we wouldn't know because the light was always on. After doing inspections and testing he found that one of the plastic parts on the engine had a crack. He replaced the intake manifold and valve cover and the check engine light never came back on.
3rd Issue - Car not starting
August 2024 -Thanks to Dave and his team, my daughters car lasted BEYOND her finishing college! As she getting ready to go on an out of state trip we were trying to make sure her car was safe. So we took it to a radiator shop (NOT AAMCO) over a weekend to replace a cracked thermostat housing that had a leak. Big mistake! When my daughter went to take the car home immediately after this OTHER shop completed the repair, her car would NOT START! They couldn't jumpstart it but it randomly started after being pushed on the hoist. They warned her that it was probably the starter and that they could replace it for $900!! She drove it home hoping it was just a fluke. That Friday night she got stranded at a restaurant in Detroit. We had it towed and after that it would randomly start and then not start. However, to me it seemed highly unlikely that a starter, that we never had a problem with before, would suddenly go bad in the couple hours someone was working on it. On Monday morning, I called Dave to see if he would verify it was the starter before replacing it. He said that he would have to keep it until it wouldn't start so that he could troubleshoot it. We got it to Dave's after hours on Monday night. When he went to work on it Tuesday it won't start so they pushed it into the shop, put it on the hoist and it started. I am telling you all of this just so you can see how intermittent the problem was! Throughout the week Dave updated me as they went through all the wiring and did testing. On Thursday, he told me that it was NOT the starter! He said there was some corrosion underneath one of the fuse boxes that they cleaned and that since they did that it has been consistently starting. He said he wanted to keep it until Monday to make sure it was still starting consistently and it was. When I went to pick it up, he said he and his team had worked on it between other jobs and he wrote it up as a courtesy check. I was blown away!! It has been st
