I’ve been lifting with Austin for a while now and I can honestly say he’s one of the best trainers out there. He really knows his stuff and makes every workout challenging but enjoyable. He’s patient, motivating, and always pushes me to get the most out of my sessions. I’ve seen real progress since training with him. Austin Kielbasa goes above and beyond — the gym is lucky to have him, and he definitely deserves a raise. Look at the before and after.

Gold’s Gym, under the leadership of the incomparable Mr. Don Larson, is nothing short of iconic—a first-class sanctuary for those serious about transformation. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that feels more Venice Beach than Metro Detroit, a testament to Don’s raw, authentic vision. A true gentleman and powerhouse, Don is the last of a golden era—part mentor, part maestro—who has built two immaculate facilities in Warren and Taylor that blend old-school grit with modern accessibility. He lives and breathes the philosophy of “no intimidation,” but make no mistake: this is where wolves train. With a full boxing ring, a youth-focused program, and a culture rooted in real results, Don’s passion has changed lives in ways money can’t measure. Gold’s Gym is more than a place to lift—it's a place where character is forged, thanks to a man who leads with integrity and heart. Thank you, Mr. Larson—you’ve impacted me deeply, and I can’t wait to train again.

So far, no real complaints.
The place is clean, and there is plenty of equipment (mostly for weight lifting) that is also well-kept. It kinda feels like a rare gem; of my past three visits I've been here (usually later in the evening or during AM hours), the gym had a few people lifting on one side and a group or multiple individual personal boxing classes on the other.
The people here seem pretty chill. I haven't encountered anyone with the tough guy or rude mentality. Most keep to themselves and are there to get their work in and head on out.
In my opinion, perfect place for someone who wants to get their workouts done on time, especially if they have a busy schedule. And that someone is me.

Very nice environment. It felt like a no nonsense type of gym in a way that pushes you to finish your workout. First time there I wasn’t clear on how to operate some things because not all equipment has pictures but thats the only con. I love that’s there’s boxing at Gold’s.

Today was my first day back in a gym in over 12 years. Don, the owner was helpful and designed a program for me that I can follow until our next session. I am excited to be at this gym. It is clean, the people are friendly and there is a good variety of equipment. Looking forward to a new season.
