“I had my first visit to Platos Closet today, the Utica store. All of the employees were friendly, kind and welcoming. MB was so incredibly patient at check out as my daughter brought up one more..and one more item. Olivia explained the store policies and helped me understand how to get the most out of my shopping experience. It was a refreshing and delightful experience...my new favorite store, especially for my teens. Thanks so much!”
“Thank you for your feedback, Ms. Lehre. I understand your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. When reviewing items for resale, I follow strict standards to ensure all clothing is clean, odor-free, and in excellent condition for our customers. Unfortunately, the pieces presented did not meet those criteria, and I respectfully explained why they couldn’t be accepted. I understand this may have been disappointing, and I truly value every customer’s perspective. My goal is always to maintain a high level of professionalism while upholding the quality our shoppers expect.”
“The Resale Connection in Rochester, Michigan is a fun little store to visit. It sells gently used items such as clothing, shoes and handbags for women, home decorating items, some hardcover books as well as some glassware. They do have consignment items such as clothing, handbags shoes and jewelry The staff is volunteer and 100 % of their profits go to help quite a few different charities. You can also donate gently used items there as well.”
“One of the best thrift stores in metro Detroit!!!! The store is always clean, staff is always friendly, and I never leave empty handed. They are consistently restocking and have the greatest deals. I have been to every thrift in the area and this one remains at the top of my list.”
“Nice store! Pleasant employees. Even though I didn’t succeed in my transaction, I would still recommend people to shop or sale their products here, if accepted.”
“Came here because the romeo area salvation army downsized and I was disappointed with the new location. I was not definitely NOT disappointed with the selection here! Huge well-labeled clothing sections. Many try on rooms, and even a couple vending machines in the back! Will definitely be coming back soon for the furniture section!”
“More dated stuff. Cashier was friendly. I am glad they got boxes like Costco does to take items to your car. Fortunately I didn't need one but you never know.
The prices were set at thrift prices which they should be. I stopped going to SA a long time ago because why would I buy used jeans (Utica) when I can buy JCP brand for $5 to $10 more. But $7 is a good value”
“Sold a couple pairs of shoes and a few jackets. Within a reasonable timeframe my items were processed and I received a payout higher than I was expecting. Staff was friendly and efficient. If I ever have unwanted clothes I will bring them here in the future.”
“Wonderful Salvation Army. Have been here several times to donate my stuff as I was preparing for moving to another state. Wonderful and helpful staff. A bit slow in the donating department which is located in back of the store drive up area. On July 17, 2026 I approached the drive up area and it was closed in mid afternoon. Not sure why, perhaps no one working. They give you a receipt to sign for taxes preparation for following year. I highly recommended getting there mid afternoon on weekdays, not as busy in drop off donating center. Makes me feel great helping those in need and seeing them getting my donated stuff is going to good use.”
“First time shopping at this location. It has lots of clothing items. Not as many home and furniture pieces as I hoped. Fast service and quick check out line. I would try it again and hope they received more donations by the next time I pop in.”
