Great guy. Did an amazing job on cleaning my boyfriend's pontoon boat and fixing the impeller and thermostat in a timely manner. The boat purrs like a kitten now. Highly recommend.

***DO NOT TRUST DSL OR DAVE WITH YOUR BOAT*** I just picked up my boat from storage after using DSL for the first time this past winter. I paid for it to be winterized and shrink wrapped. Their website claims to install a bag of DampRid with their boat shrink wrapping to absorb any moisture in the boat, which helps to keep mold and mildew out, as well as, disconnect your battery and grease any fittings on the motor. They did none of this. In fact, they never even shrink wrapped my boat. When I dropped my boat off in the fall I had my travel cover on it, which I never store outside. I only use it for traveling, but I figured since it was being shrink wrapped it would just add another layer of protection. When I picked my boat up from storage my cover had dirty water stains from pools of puddling water on it, there were oak catkins all throughout the inside from fall droppings, there was mold damage, the seats were waterlogged and the carpet was soaking wet. Dave told me they took the shrink wrap off a couple of days before I arrived because there was a mix up with one of the boats they were going to perform service on. To make matters worse one of the taillight housing was broken on my trailer. There is literally no level of professionalism whatsoever when dealing with this company. They are very sloppy, disorganized, dishonest and have horrible customer service. When I arrived to pick up my boat there were four employees just standing around talking and not one of them greeted me or asked what they could do to help me...very awkward. This has truly been an unbelievably horrible experience.

DSL (Dave) replaced the carpeting on my 25 foot pontoon with modern flooring. They delivered the boat early spring as promised and all seemed well, until I tried to use the boat! Half of the seating that had been removed to replace the flooring was not fastened back to the floor of the boat and the boat had to be roughly forced in and out of gear. I called Dave and he said they could not get to it for a couple of weeks because they were so busy. Ok not a problem, until I called three weeks later because I had not heard from Dave. Literally 10 more minutes of the "we are so busy", and I suggested that he spend more time working and less time complaining about how busy he was. I tried to tell him that his customers did not care how busy he is after waiting for their boat to be completed close to one month after the promised date. He did after all choose to be in the boat business and it was after all SPRING!

If I could give no stars I would! We were longtime customers who always paid on time and were patient and easygoing in regards to scheduling our boat pick up and drop off, letting Dave come at their convenience. But when we went to request our boat drop last year I called right before Memorial Day weekend. I knew that they were busy and asked if they could squeeze us in. Dave said absolutely not. So I asked him if we could have someone else come and pick up the boat and drop it for us instead. He screamed at me and said that he wouldn't be able to do the prep work on it in time but if I wanted to find someone else to do it then fine, go ahead (mind you we had already paid for that at fall pick up as part of our fee). We wanted the boat in the water really bad because it was going to be really hot and wanted to take our family out. So I found someone else who said they would pick up the boat, take it back to their place and prep it for us and then drop it. So I called Dave and let him know. Saturday rolls around and the guy we hired went to go pick up our boat to prep it. Dave refused to let him take it! There were 2 boats in the way (sitting on trailers) and said he didn't have the time to take the 5 minutes to move them (even though the employees in the yard standing around said they could). He then said we owed him money for "something from 2016" but he didn't know what for exactly! What? We have paid you 2 years in a row since then and all of the sudden we owe you money from years ago but you can't even tell us what for?? My husband decided to go up there and try to reason with Dave. When he got there there was only one boat left blocking ours that would take minutes to move. My husband offered to not only pay him the $75 we owed him from 2016 for something but can't say what, but also pay him money to move the one boat in the way so we could get ours out of the marina. He refused, screamed profanities and complained that my husband was parked somewhere that was blocking his boat haulers. My husband (very upset at this point) said "please just let me pay you to move the one boat and this money we all the sudden owe you and I will move my car and we can get my boat and leave". Dave refused and called the police! For no reason at all, after telling us we could come get our boat, he decided to ruin our weekend plans last minute. Just being a j**** He made it so we had to schedule him to come drop our boat (and pay him the $25 to do so) the following week. When they finally come to drop our boat the guy pulls up (one of Daves workers) and says "I am not able to drop your boat until you give me a check for the money from 2016". With no invoice for the money we supposedly owed him and no explanation as to why we owed him it. And no answer as to why he didn't tell us in the 2 years since that we owed him money. We wrote the check, still tipped the guy who dropped it (it's not his fault his boss is a complete j**** and finally got our boat back. We were with DSL for 9 years. We always were good clients who paid on time, were understanding when accidents occurred (like the year they lost our boat key and made us buy a new one without reimbursement. And the year they accidentally ripped out all of our stero system wiring when having a guy attend to the boat who had no idea what he was doing, etc). And it seems as though just because he was having a crappy day he decided to use the little power he had (our boat was on his property so without going to court we couldn't force him to give it to us on the spot) to treat us like crap and tried to ruin our family holiday weekend. He lost a loyal long time customer and we have spread the word to our friends and neighbors to watch out. Funny enough, we found others with similarly horrible experiences with his company and not a person who had any kind words for him. Even his employees were apologizing and calling him a "d*ck". Do yourself a favor and go elsewher

I've been using Dave's business for 15 years for pontoon boat launching and removal, Winterizing and Shrink Wrapping. Ever since he went completely out of his way to help me when I got my boat stuck, I've been a faithful customer. He and Ron are great guys to deal with and he always answers his phone! They've always been on time, done quality work and prices are good. For me, they're a no stress situation. Everything's taken care of!

I have my fiberglass outboard boat detailed and winterized there. The boat sits in the water in Pontiac lake all summer long and the algae turns the boat green. Zach really made the hull look like new. Great job. Thank you!

DSL Marine destroyed my 2014 Tahoe Grand Island pontoon boat. Dropped it off in Sept 2017 for winterization and shrink wrap. Dave Larson, owner DSL, called and told me his guys accidentally caught my boat on fire while shrink wrapping, burned the seats. He said if I kept the boat with him for the winter he would have Bev, his upholstery lady fix all the seats. I agreed because I have been a loyal customer of Dave's and has referred others to Dave. I called in the spring of 2018 to come pick up my boat, Dave said it wasn't ready. Finally I called again in May and he said the boat was ready for pick up. When I arrived I found the boat in his lot, uncovered and full of debris, branches, tree sap, little sappy pine cones, etc. Animals had gotten into the boat and clawed the upholstery. Dave thought I was being too picky and claimed the animal damage was there previously. He then said his guys would clean the boat and he would take a look at the damage. A few days later I returned to pick up the boat, Dave knew I was coming and was no where to be found. His guys had said they worked on the boat for three hours and could not remove the tree sap stains. They did remove one cushion and said it would be sent out for repair. It is now August, I still don't have the seat cushion he removed, the stains all over the other seats cannot be removed, the Tahoe dealer gave me a written estimate to replace the seat skins for $1200 and Dave has refused to return any of my calls or emails. DO NOT USE DSL Marine, please warn all others who may ever consider DSL for service.

Beware U may be told one price $20 in my case, one day and when the work gets done the price , asked for $50 ,almost triples! For three minutes work and I even helped. We did settle at the agreed $20. I didn't have cash the day of service and a gruff old guy threatened to lock the gate until I paid. Really!!! I offered my credit card and was chastised for not bring cash. I like Dave but no longer trust him. I will be taking my two boats elsewhere for my service needs.

I've stored my boat here for 5 years and have never had a problem. My boat is taken good care of, the opening process is always smooth. Additionally, I can store my trailer here during the summer months to save me room. The do deliver pontoons if needed. Reasonable prices for storage, compared to bigger named Boat Dealers in the area.
