Union Lake Vet has all the tech and expertise of a big company, but it has the atmosphere and loving care of your local neighborhood vet. The building has some great modern updates, the staff are always helpful and genuinely happy to see you and your animals, the vets are kind and trustworthy, and they give you options for your care to make sure it's affordable to keep your pets healthy and safe. I take both of my pets there and I don't plan on ever going anywhere else.

We have been working with Dr. Hawker, Kirsten and Felicia to address anxiety in our 2 yo labradoodle rescue. They have been patient, kind and very responsive as we work together to help this pup. Highly recommended!

Animal Lover Beware. I got a new cat about a month ago, Bubbles. She was bubbly and full of energy. Two weeks ago, she was very itchy and not as energetic. I took her to Union Lake Vet. They treated with Revolution Plus. They tried to get a blood sample: they had 3 different people holding Bubbles and poked her 4 different times and couldn't get the sample. Bubbles was amazing; it was the lack of experience of the techs.Bubbles continued to get worse and eventually stopped eating. I took her back to the vet yesterday, 01/02/24. This time they swaddled her and took her out of the room to get blood work. They brought her back to the room within 10 minutes and they didn't get the blood sample; Bubbles only had 1 leg wrapped so I know they only tried 1 time to get the blood. They wanted me to bring her back on Gabapentin for them to get the blood sample. They also gave her 1 shot of fluids worth $70 and a medication to rub on her ear to stimulate an appetite. It didn't work. Plus, how am I supposed to give Bubbles Gabapentin for blood work if she's not eating! So today, I called the vet for help because now it's going on 3 days that Bubbles had barely ate any food. She whimpers when I pick her up and can barely walk. The vet first told me to go to a different vet for help.Than they called back and told me that I could bring her in but they would have to sedate her to get blood work which would cost around $1,000. I've already spent close to $1,000 in 3 vet visits. Now they want another $1,000 to treat her for the same thing they should have completely treated her for yesterday.I'm now sitting at a 24 hour animal hospital waiting for Bubbles to receive help for the same symptoms she should have been completely treated for yesterday at Union Lake Vet. They already took her temperature here and she has a fever. Union Lake Vet was supposed to take her temperature yesterday but didn't.I will not bring any of my animals to Union Lake Vet. They have inexperienced techs and veterinarians. I saw 3 different veterinarians and 2 were very young. No one should have to spend $2,000 to get their animal the help they need.UPDATE: In 15 minutes, this animal hospital got a blood sample and a xray. Bubbles blood work is off the charts. She's fighting something bacterial or a virus. They gave have her a bunch of meds and I got meds to take home. All for less than $500. God bless Wilson's Veterinary Hospital!

We love Union Lake Veterinary Hospital! With that said, I called today for an appointment, was offered one for a couple hours later, which I accepted. At checkout, I learned that it was being billed as an urgent care visit. I told the employee doing the checkout that the person that set up the appointment for me did not say anything about it being an urgent care visit. She responded that for future reference, appointments made same day are considered urgent care visits. I responded that for future reference, best practice would be to let the customer know when they are setting up the appointment so that they are not surprised at checkout.

They were willing to do a video visit to help us better manage and understand our dogs behavior issues. We live two hours away and could not find a local vet who can help with behavioral issues. They were knowledgeable and supportive. If we lived closer we would utilize their climic for all of our needs!

Dr. Hawker and Kristen truly care about animals and are willing to help this poor dog.My dog's skin irritation was getting worse, as her anxiety (may be because the itchiness made her more sensitive). I was urgent and almost begged this veterinary for the help since the previous/routine vet reject to see her due to her anxiety (which is ridiculous). This veterinary really responded well to both emails and calls.Kristen helped me and my poor dog with all the resources that she had. Suggested various methods I could try to get close with my dog. Calmly listened to me about all the random information that I dumped into her and well organized it to advise me on the next steps.Dr. Hawker immediately recommended the proper medication, even though my dog was not really cooperative. With Kristen's detailed information shared, perfect treatment methods are set.The money is worth every single penny.I am so glad that I had the opportunity to meet them. They are the SAVIOR!

I used to take my black lab to this vet many years ago. She suffered from chronic ear infections from constantly being in the lake. They performed surgery to straighten out her ear canal, but after paying a hefty price for this procedure, I saw no improvement. I took her to another vet who suggested we try to fight the infection from the inside, with antibiotics. It worked! Never went back. We are on our third dog with this new vet, (Airport Vet) and couldn't be happier!

We were referred here from our regular vet for urgent care services and they were SO friendly and got us in very quickly. Our regular vet was not following up and didn't seem interested in treating our pet, didn't call back after leaving messages, so when we were seen at Union Lake it was like night and day. They treated us with kindness, they remembered us when having to stop in to buy prescription food and made sure to go above and beyond, especially during our difficult time when our cat was in his last days. Our regular vet never followed up and still doesn't know our cat had to be euthanized. Union Lake sent a card after hearing of his passing and the office girls in general are so sweet. We will definitely be returning with the rest of our pets for amazing care!
