We haven't been to Nichols since the pandemic. Our poochie baby, Lily, needed an emergency visit for an infection and we were unable to get an appointment. Like most vets were, Nichols was overwhelmed as well. We ended up being able to get into an old veterinarian that we had not been to in about 15yrs. We've since just "stuck" with that veterinarian since. After returning today for help with my elderly feline, Flunky, I was immediately reminded WHY we chose Nichols in the first place so many years ago. And why we will be returning to them for our fur babies future needs. They actually care.Highly, highly recommend ?❤️

Put my old lady down here. They were so sweet and 100% honest about cost and possible future procedures. It took a while but they were very busy, and it is clear they put their whole hearts into every appointment. Thank you so much!

I been using Nichols since the year 2000. Back then the service was excellent. Walk ins were accepted without any issues. Now they don’t do walk ins, despite being a hospital. What if your pet needed emergency care? And now (which is totally absurd) there’s a $50 fee to hold your appointment. I don’t what’s happening to my beloved Nichiols. But I’m moving my care for my pet children to another veterinary clinic. Farewell

I got put in a room very quickly but it was 45 minutes before anyone came in. I was there for just over two hours. And they add cost before you agree to anything. $300 for this visit. Might have to switch clinics.

It's been a couple years so I can talk about this now. It hurt too much before.I had a cat for 14 years.I brought him here in the first few months of the pandemic... July 2020...I was $100 short of what it would cost to save his life.I explained to her that my husband was a senior employee at Ford motor company and that we had recently used our savings to pay our bills through the first few months of the pandemic...I explained to her that I would have the last $100 in just seven short days. The doctor shamed me for not having the money. Told me that it was irresponsible as a pet owner to not have the money.I was so desperate I was in the parking lot asking others who were waiting to have their animals seen if they could help me with the last $100. Nobody cared. He passed that day. I had to make the decision to put him down because it was cheaper than the life saving procedure. These people only care about profits they do not care about your loved one.

Front desk was kind and friendly but waited over an hour just for routine vaccines. Kept being told it would only be a few more minutes. Ended up walking out after an hour and a half of waiting. I will go to a vet who instead is appreciative of my time.

I brought my kitty cat in to check on a mass. It unfortunately wasn't a happy visit. Everyone was so kind. The Dr explained everything step by step. I had plenty of time with him before I said goodbye. I was impressed with how caring everyone was. We've been using Nichols since 1976. I've never been disappointed in the car they give.

I would recommend this place to anyone. My husband took our dog Dixie here thinking we were going to have to put her down and after the vet did a very thorough check she wrote her a prescription and said that she wasn't ready she has alot more life in her and said she has a very happy disposition. The problems were due to arthritis and weight. She even took plenty of time and also called another vet to get bloodwork results. The staff here is also amazing!!! I love this place!!

Today my cat became suddenly very ill. When I contacted my own vet (who I’ve been going to for 20+ years), the receptionist wouldn’t give me the time of day and wouldn’t even let me speak to my vet. When I called Nichols, they were so sweet and responsive and spoke to their veterinarian before recommending I go to an emergency clinic right away. Unfortunately, my girl crossed the rainbow bridge on the way there, and I went back to Nichols for cremation services. Everyone at Nichols was so helpful and so sweet even though I have never gone there before. They gave us as much time as we needed and didn’t try to rush us away. I will definitely be coming back here. The empathy and compassion are unmatched. They made a very bad day easier.

I would love to give them 5 stars. Unfortunately their front office staff is the cause of their problems. The Drs are great! But now they don't answer the phones anymore. It's a recording and they do not return calls to schedule an appointment. I have a dog with a possible UTI and a cat that needs a yearly visit to get his specialty food script renewed to keep him peeing. I will give them one more chance when I drive there tomorrow and confront them in person. And I don't mean with violence. Don't send me a reminder card that my animals need to be seen if you're not going to answer the phone!

After the change of ownership we have had nothing but issues. Our dog needs to be sedated to get his nails trimmed. Once we took him and they didn't have the key to get the medication so we had to leave, while pulling out of the parking lot we got the call and was told they found the key and we could come back. The next time we had a long wait and then they told me no one said he needed sedation when it's clearly in his chart and the only reason why we were there. The third and final time we received a call the night before to confirm our appt then told me the vet that was there is unable to do sedation. I will never go to this vet again and highly advise going somewhere else.

Stay away! My family had been going to this vet for decades and loved them, but they have been bought out by a chain. All of the previous vets and staff have quit. Only one old vet was left on limited hours/services. The new vet, Dr. John Rysavy, and the new office staff are the most uncompassionate people I’ve ever encountered working with animals. The clinic never answers the phone, never calls you back, and when you come in during open hours the vet and staff will act like you’re an inconvenience. I never write reviews but please do NOT take your pets here. It’s a shame the new chain was able to keep the name Nichols, because it’s not the same business at all. There’s a reason so many of the recent reviews are 1 star!

Bringing pets there for 20 years. Cancelled one appointment and advised I will be charged a $50 deposit for future appointments. Even after I brought a dog there, they told me he was fine, he died later that night. Even after making appointments only to be made to wait 45 minutes in the waiting room, plus an additional 30 minutes in the exam room, every time. Also was turned away when I didnt have an appointment. Saw them turn away a pet with emergency needs that same day. I guess they are so busy they dont need customers. I'm finding a new vet.
