“This gas station and liquor store combo is hands-down one of my favorite spots in town. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a team of genuinely kind, hardworking employees who always go above and beyond to provide fast, friendly service. Whether it’s early in the morning or late at night, they never miss a beat. You can tell they take pride in their work and care about their customers.
The selection in the liquor store is impressive—great variety, fair prices, and the staff is always ready to help if you’re not sure what to grab. But what really sets this place apart are the sandwiches. I’m not exaggerating when I say they’re some of the best around. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, and made with love. It’s the kind of quality you’d expect from a specialty deli, not a gas station. But here, they nail it every time.
It’s rare to find a spot that consistently delivers on convenience, quality, and customer service, but this place does just that. Whether I’m filling up my tank, picking up a snack, grabbing a drink, or ordering lunch, I know I’m in good hands.

“We were down here from Flint and decided to check this store out and o tell you what it's definitely worth a checkout
I am a whiskey/bourbon drinker and when you walk in it's a dream come true haha the entire wall is filled with all sorts of whiskey, bourbon, scotch, Canadian whiskeys to choose from
My wife is a rum drinker and has such a hard time finding anything other than your basic garbage rum
But this store has a whole aisle of very nice selections of rum to coffee from and the prices are great
The owner was very attentive and wanting to help with anytime you need
Very clean store and great selection of all spent liquors
We're from Flint so it's kind of a long drive but will stop in again when we're in the area”

“The new owners are incredibly kind and friendly. Although this a dusty little hole in the wall it is the heart and soul of last minute buys in downtown Ypsi. Classic establishment that I wish would do more to be more than a dusty hole in the wall. Products are dusty it would almost appear like it's a Bodega or something lol. But their stuff is not all expired”

“This store has saved my bacon several times now. We had some friends and their kids over and ran out of hot dogs!! This store is literally down the street from our house, so I ran over, found the hot dogs I needed, and even grabbed myself an energy shot so I could survive the party. Love this place - everyone is always friendly and helpful, and I can always find what I need.”
“Arrived at 8:15 first come first serve. Rick in the receiving department is freaking amazing. He was very respectful very polite very quick Great sense of humor he made me feel welcome at the establishment instead of a grungy dirty truck driver that other places treat us like. “We've been coming here for years, and will continue frequenting. There's a lot to choose from, at very reasonable prices. The shelves are always well stocked, and the staff is always pleasant. Kurt and the others have done a great job of keeping their customers happy, and the business afloat (in spite of covid-19, which was followed by the endless construction going on at the overpass).

“I grew up in the South. The cook behind the counter started talking and I immediately asked if he was from NC. He was! We ordered their 8 piece fried chicken and 4 honey biscuits and took it home. I SWOONED.Southern fried chicken! KFC has NOTHING on this place. They're excellent, kind, fast, and friendly.I also just tried one of their brownies my wife brought me home as a surprise and nearly cried. It was SO good. I couldn't finish it; it was HUGE but OH MY GOD it was good.I have not tried the pizza, but their chicken is DIVINE and you won't regret it. It's also cheaper than KFC.”

“Despite the other reviews stating the indifference towards customers, try going to an inner city liquor store and see how you are treated. Every time I have been to Prospect Party Store, I have been treated with respect. Be respectful and you will earn it in return. While at this store, the customer in front of me started giving the clerk a hard time simply because the customer had a hard time understanding the clerk. The clerk has a right to be here as much as the customer. There is no native language here; so accept it, deal with it, and move on. I liked the selection and I apologized to the clerk for the way he was treated by the previous customer. The clerk doesn't owe you anything; if I were the clerk, I'd have thrown the disrespectful customer out the door. Respect is earned, not a right. This place is great. I would recommend visiting and checking it out.”
