Really disappointed by your customer service. I'm going today to close my account because I can't deal with your corporate jargon any longer. I recently returned from my honeymoon and primarily used funds from a separate bank account. That's where I've transferred all my bills and subscriptions. Because of this fact, I keep my account balance with you low. Apparently it was overdrafted 3 times and I was not notified, and was charged $105 in overdraft fees. This was such a bummer to see on my honeymoon. I called today to see if those fees could be waived since I was not notified, but no action was taken to do so. My family has banked with you all for years and I am so disappointed by your company's lack of empathy.

This is an 8.18.2020 complaint against the branch manager (? Doug Durham) at the Ypsilanti branch of Bank of America (BOA) after I got a call from the person I wrote a personal check to and learned that the bank manager refused to cash the check. The check was greater than $5,000 but less than $10,000. While on the phone with the branch manager, he gave multiple reasons for refusing to cash the check...* First Denial Reason - The person presenting the check is not a BOA customer* Second Denial Reason - The bank's system will not allow the check amount to be cashed by a non-customer; but it could be cashed if it was a lower amount* Third Denial Reason - The check can be cashed for half the amount (did not address the other half)* Fourth Denial Reason - Suggested the non-customer take the check to his own bank and deposit it there.Based on the responses from the branch manager and the location of the bank, I believe he acted in an arbitrary and capricious manner with several racist overtones against a person of color. When asked if he, as the branch manager, could override the system to process the check, he stated that he does not have the authority or ability.

I just witnessed the banker Joe Denis trying his very best to help an out of state elderly gentleman cash an out of state check not even drawn on BOA, and the gentleman was not a BOA customer, he went as far as going out to the gentleman's car to try to help him upload the mobile app and use the competing banks mobile app functionality. He could have easily sent the man away saying he couldn't help

Terrible! Always end up waiting for 30 mins to 1 hour to do very simple things! I HATE this location!!!! Always 4 windows with 2 tellers at the most!!!
