Avoid at all costs for any kind of mechanical work. Even oil changes are super slow, but they left my SUV in a dangerous condition, lied, and didn't fix the original problem.
They misdiagnosed the problem, charged almost a thousand dollars to replace control arms that were fine, lied about getting an alignment and then left one of the control arms loose, barely attached which could have caused a fatal crash. They did not own up to any of their mistakes or make it right in any way.

My last visit was great so I scheduled an oil change on 1/15/25. Today 1/16/25 there is no oil in my car. The oil is puddled in the snow under it. My engine is shaking. I took a video and sent it to a friend who stated my engine could blow from the lack of oil in it. I did not have an oil leak to be clear prior to coming in yesterday. I just had to have my car towed to their site. I went in with no issues and now I’m concerned that whatever they did/did not do yesterday is going to cause major issues to my car! I really hope they fix whatever they did since I literally was there barely 24 hours ago!

2025 has been the year of the Midas touch.
If I could give zero stars, I would.
**UPDATE**
I took my car to Ann Arbor transmissions and they stated that Midas of Ypsilanti either incorrectly installed the seal (which I had them replace TWO TIMES) or nicked the seal on installation. TJ, who I'm under the impression is the manager, presented himself very angrily after my initial review and insinuated I was lying and incorrect about my assumptions of their poor work. Thankfully, I was proven correct. He also openly bashed the other Midas in Ann Arbor for "trying to get me to have work done at their shop" which made no sense because they sent my car to the Ypsi shop after disclosing that the seals looked bad after my first visit. Still the WORST car shop experience ever. Go to Ann Arbor Transmissions for better work at half the price.
The following portion of this review is what he was heated over.
I have a transmission leak which originally stemmed from worn seals and a bad bushing. Upon my first visit I was told the housing looked like the source even though the housing was visibly in tact without damage. They tried to sell me a worse transmission for $2,300. After that repair in January, I was charged $500+ for the seal replacement but saw no success with the "new seals" they claimed to have replaced. After noticing the continuous small leak, I took it to another Midas in town and was told "The seals look pretty worn".
I was supposed to have the work warrantied according to the GM and worker at the second shop, but the shop here in Ypsilanti charged me again. Now it's February. I still have a leaking transmission and currently sit $1,000+ in the hole.
I even went as far as contacting the Better Business Bureau and they never received a response from the shop.
Worst auto shop experience ever. I do not recommend getting any work done with this shop or any of the surrounding Midas shops in the area. Save your money and your cars life.

Took my vehicle there to find out why the battery was dying. Was told 24 hours later that the alternator and starter were checked and the only issue was the battery. Their battery was $280 and I knew I could find one cheaper. I was told the van needed 2 front tires. To avoid throwing away the $165 charge to look at the van I agreed to the $288 for tires. The very next morning after purchasing a brand new battery, the car again wouldn't start . I was told to wait until Monday, which was 2 days away. Instead I took it to a place I used in the past and they said it was the starter. When I spoke with the manager at Midas that day I was told they couldn't accurately check the vehicle with a bad battery and that's why they didn't see the issue and they will do better in the future... That didn't help me in any way shape or form, but just know when you go to this place you might want to rethink it.

Mixed experience with Midas - I appreciate that they were able to get me in same day when I suspected an issue with my coolant system on my 2015 Jeep Patriot. On the other hand, when I asked what kind of coolant they refilled my car with, they said 'green' and when I checked the coolant for myself after pick up, it was actually a faint pink or orange color and they had really overfilled it past the 'max fill' line. Different kinds of coolant can be incompatible or compatible with different vehicles, so it's concerning that they were not able to accurately tell me what kind of coolant they used and why. My coolant system had a leak, so they replaced the radiator hose, and for $780 out the door, I expected better documentation of what they did, and accurate communication on pickup. Not everyone is able to and thinks to check the work of the mechanics - so accurate communication about the work they've done to your car is important. I felt like they were just assuming I wouldn't check the work they did.

Horrible place. My roomate is too nice to leave a bad review but they basically told him that he needs to do a $7,000 job of replacing the engine because the engine is bad. It was on a BMW. He took it to a different place and his friends helped him. Turned out it was a freaking $50 fuse problem. Super easy fix.
Do not go to this place, just find anything else around. My roomate was stressing for days thinking his car was done.

New owner and management sucks! Not only did an oil change go from $30 to $80 on my 2003 Suburban (wtf) but I also stopped by Thursday of last week to have codes run for my check engine light. The gentleman with braces (who stated he was a manager) ran the code and told me he would call me in two days with a quote for repair of a sensor. He never called me, so I called yesterday, six days later, for an update. A different gentleman told me they were done for the day, they’ll call me tomorrow. Now, the next day is this morning, and I’m stranded on the side of the road because my car shit out. Thanks! Will not ever be returning.

I Was charged $1700 for a repair done for my vehicle and the issue wasn’t fixed at this place. Had to take my car to the dealership and they found out the real issue. And now I have to pay another 4 grand.

I recently got tires put on my car and the first day I talked to Mike and he was professional quick which I appreciate. The following days Tj has been more than helpful and personable and now I’ve brung my second car in for work. Only giving 4/5 because I want to make sure the work stands up as well but I’m definitely feel confident bringing my cars here going forward. Also apparently these are new managers n what not possible the older ones weren’t as good?

I thank Midas for helping me with having the tire put on when both of my tires blew out on Michigan Ave, Ypsilanti, MI. One has a donut on it and Mike came through for me about having the tire that I need to fix it and get me back on the road. Thank you Mike!
