Recently, I was in need of a last-minute exhaust repair. I called around to a handful of shops close to me, but the only one that could see me the following morning was Mr. Muffler. After I brought the car in, I was shown the issue and given a couple options. I took the option that would require the most time (this option would have likely saved me another repair in the short term). Even with this option, the repair was completed very quickly. I was very appreciative of the fast turnaround. I would certainly consider them in the future for other repairs.

worked with Sam to get a custom exhaust system set up on my Lexus. I was picky abt the quality of the finish, but he did not disappoint. was perfect when i left, it settled a little crooked after driving it some so I came back to get the tips readjusted, now looks + sounds great. Sam was a great guy to work with, a proper car enthusiast who understood my mission lol

Went on to get my front end checked out. I do know some about cars but I didn't want to do the work. So here's the bottom line, was told, lower ball joint, new control arm, and cv axels. Price. $2022. I went bought$50 back joint my friend is a mechanic. He charged $60. All of the other stuff was bogus. They ran the price up. So you decide if you want to go there.

These guys are really great. My car very unexpectedly needed a new catalytic converter and the car was so loud I couldn’t wait to have a repair done. They took me as a walk in and I was out within an hour for a very fair price. Car now sounds and drives much better. Many thanks.

Mike and Sam are outstanding! Took my car in, they put the car on the hoist, looked it over, deemed the brakes safe, and didn't even charge me a dime!Spoke to Sam for 30 min about cars, and he is very knowledgeable. I will be taking my cars here in the future!

On the fence about them. I’ve used for several years with all of our family cars and they’ve always done a good job at a fair price. However, last week I took my daughters new $700 used car there to see what needed to be done and, to my surprise, he charge me $95 just to tell me that the car had too many problems to fix and that it had a lot of rust (as if I could not see that for myself). I’m not sure if I will go back to him.

STAY AWAY: (Beware)$45 to lift your vehicle and estimating $675.A simple muffler was required to be changed; however MIKE insisted to change everything till the exhaust! Despite suggesting him that only muffler is required; he was adamant and rude! Ended up paying: $45 for lifting the car and hearing his illogically estimate of $675 for 2008 Ford escape!I smiled and told him after paying $45 that he ripped me off! It’s injustice; yet another thing to remember tho…References:Tuffy: Free estimate: $225Midas: Free estimate: $150 (Scheduled it already)Myself: PhD Mechanical, University College London, owned cars models ranging from 1980 to 2023.

HONEST, FABULOUS, WORTHY OF YOUR BUSINESS, MIKE WARRANTED A MINOR BRAKE ISSUE EIGHT MONTHS AFTER THE SALE NO QUESTIONS ASKED (Manufacture, defect). FULL brake replacement!!!!!!!!!!I HAVEN’T BEEN TREATED this WELL BY AN AUTO REPAIR CENTER IN DECADES.Eight months ago, I had the pleasure of doing business at Mr. muffler. I was working… Ypsilanti and my truck needed brakes all of a sudden. Mr. Muffler drove me back to my job site so I could keep working and completed the brake job quickly. Eight months later I had a minor issue with the brakes. I CALLED MIKE AT MR. MUFFLER. AND ALL HE COULD SAY WAS “BRING IT IN, BRING IT IN, BRING IT IN, WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU”. HE DID JUST THAT!MY WIFE BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN AND MIKE FIXED THE BRAKES WITH FULL WARRANTY. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. MIKE IS EXTRA HONEST AND DESERVES YOUR BUSINESS.THANKS MIKE I WILL BE BACK EVEN THOUGH I LIVE AN HOUR AWAY. LOVE THIS GUY LOVE THE SERVICE!

I've had exhaust work done here in the past (WV Jetta needed the flex pipe welded back to the manifold outlet). Other shops only could replace the part which would be $$$ but Mr. Muffler has the expertise to custom weld it back on. This work was done for my girlfriend at the time, and she went to the shop by herself, she really liked the mechanics, she didn't feel pressured or talked down to like other shops try to unfortunately do to women.05/2023: I recently went here for A/C work and a rework of my custom exhaust. Although I didn't end up doing the exhaust through them, the mechanics were friendly and knowledgeable. I can definitely recommend Mr. Muffler of Ypsi.Services: Exhaust

FANTASTIC!We had been dealing with a noise issue that turned out to be wheel bearings, replaced at another area shop. However, after getting the car back we noticed a very strange noise that sounded like an exhaust system grounding out as the engine went through shift points. Exhaust...muffler...exhaust repair...my girlfriend saw the reviews and suggested we try this place.Sam agreed to take a look and put it on the hoist - same day (seriously). He invited me to look at the exhaust system with him and showed me that oddly enough, the exhaust system was in perfect working order - right on down to the hangers. No grounding out, no leaks, no sign of unusual wear. Definitely not trying to sell me anything, which is a great place to start. After trying several diagnostics Sam asked, as we stood around the car with its hood up "did you get an oil change recently?" In fact, the other garage (where the wheel bearings had been done) had given us a complimentary oil change. How odd that he should ask.It was a bit embarrassing in that I had been completely focused on the exhaust potentially grounding out against the body, mainly because I got my start in automotive engineering years ago working for Tenneco / Walker (they make exhaust systems), so I know a bit more about exhaust noise and vibration than most people do. The noise definitely sounded like an engine exhaust order, but wasn't as pronounced (by the way, a good lesson that just because one knows a lot about something, one shouldn't draw conclusions without fully diagnosing the issue). Sam said "heres the problem".Sure enough, the folks at the other garage had failed to button up the air filter box when they did the oil change. The air filter box houses the filter but also, acts as a muffler for the engine's induction noise - but ONLY if it's sealed. The air cleaner LOOKED like it had been sealed, but it hadn't.Long story long the noise was being caused by the engine moving slightly as it developed torque and the engine passed through shift points. This caused the engine to move enough to a) allow the induction system to make noise, and b) move slightly against the engine compartment. I can't say how much noise was airborne versus structure borne, but as soon as he buttoned it back up and we re-tested, the noise was gone...as in COMPLETELY gone. Keep in mind the other shop had basically blown-off my girlfriend, which was pretty insulting, and yet, she was right all along. This is, in point of fact, why I DIDN'T take the car back to the OTHER shop today, but Sam at Mr. Muffler totally took care of us.I know this seems like a lot, but you have to understand that before I finally figured out the wheel bearings were bad, no less than three shops had assured me the wheel bearings were OK, and this sudden low frequency noise had me thinking "fractured flex pipe" or other issue. The thing is, when my girlfriend called the OTHER garage, they were rather dismissive - they told her that the noise she was hearing was normal, and coming from the tires; neither of these statements were true. The sound was related to the engine orders and NOT the wheels, nor was it in any way normal. Frankly, the tech at the other place insulted her intelligence.Since they appear to do all manner of general automotive work, I have decided to throw future work their way. I had a chance to "talk shop" with the owner as well as the main administrative assistant, and man, great, great people who know cars. All that I got from both of them was a complete vibe that these are honest, professional, knowledganble, and highly ethical people running a great business. You may think that this is a bit much, but these days? It's SO difficult to find reliable people, and so when I meet them I feel compelled to sing their praises.Absolutely five stars! I have never been so impressed but also surprised by good old fashioned ethical and honorable people - these days it seems that so many shops suffer from employees who don't really care, bu

I want to thank Sam for his excellent service this morning. I'll be going back for more repairs this week.
