The warmth and smells floating from the bakery form a bubble universe in which all pain leaves your heart and body and is replaced with a rising, doughlike feeling in your body that brings to mind only the happiest and most fulfilling of thoughts. It makes you want to cry in the way that a breathtaking view does, except you're breathing the deepest breath you ever breathed. The staff is friendly and the building is pretty accessible! Don't forget to pay for parking if you park in the street during the week.

I felt like the employees were following me around the store. And it's a small place, but every time I turned around someone was right next to me, like they thought I was going to shoplift. I bought a gallon of Guernsey milk that was 10 days from expiring and it was noticeably sour when I opened it at home. I didn't bother to take it back because of the uncomfortable experience I had. Definitely not going out of my way to shop here again

Excellent shop. I've known them for over 20 years... since my EMU days and they have slowly expanded to bakery and small diner with soup and sandwiches. Wonderful place for anything organic and for anyone who's health conscious and conscious of the planet.

Great stuff. Construction in the area had traffic in a mess for a bit but definitely worth the drive from Detroit.

We love shopping here! Staff are so friendly and helpful and they have so many healthy and unhealthy options. They make a lot of treats in house. I stop there for sammies when I'm on the run. I love the tofu bbq sammie. The vegan chocolate pudding and the tres leches cake are a must! Their pesto is also very good. They have a great bulk section. Make sure you check expiration dates on grocery items as those don't turn over as much as their fresh food.

Great place. They have a bakery and lots of prepared food that's great if you want something quickly that's healthy. They also have many natural options for household products. The produce could be cheaper and organic is my only complaint, I have never bought produce there.

Nice food co-op store located in the Depot Town district in Ypsilanti. The facility is so-so, but the food and service are really great!

When you enter the store it feels like the old neighborhood grocery stores from my early childhood. Back in the days before the mega-marts put them all out of business. The store is unassuming, nothing fancy or flashy. After all it is in a historic building in Ypsilanti's Depot Town. You won't find a lot of fancy stuff here. What you will find is a friendly staff, locally sourced produce, an eclectic selection of pantry items, and some wonderful freshly made baked goods. If you have a recipe that calls for an uncommon ingredient, you might want to check Ypsi Food Coop. I've seen items that I don't think I've seen anywhere else. They also have an extensive bulk food section featuring a variety of coffees, teas, dried legumes, and other bulk pantry items.I highly recommend shopping at Ypsilanti Food Coop.

I love coming to the Ypsi Co-Op. I've been coming here for a handful of years, and became a member-owner in the past two (finally)! They have an amazing bakery with in house baked breads and pastries. They also have a wonderful deli with local favorites as well as in house foods. Most of their products are local, and all of it is high quality. The staff members and volunteers are always friendly and I love seeing the same people all the time. This is a great spot to find locally sourced and house made goodies and support the local economy. They're always improving their storefront, with recent major remodels that had a positive impact on the layout and offers more space. If you love local, you won't want to miss this shop.

The best fresh baked bread in Ypsi! We love the Co-op and frequent it often for a quick to-go lunch. Some of the prepared foods can be pricey, but they are all delicious. We love the fresh baked bread -- the challah and focaccia are our favorites. They post their baking schedule in the bakery since they rotate their offerings daily. The best bakery deals are when items go 50% off -- so check the shelves for those deals! The expansion of the co-op is wonderful and they have a small cafe portion now. Check out is always a breeze and we never have to wait in line too long on the busiest of days. Produce selection is a bit on the smaller side, but lots of dry food and bulk options. Also a very nice dairy selection as well.

I love the most recent expansion. The bakery/cafe area is really nice. I bought bread and it was still warm ❤️Great smells! It is a bit more expensive than a conventional grocery store, but you are supporting your local community and not some big box giant that treats people like garbage.

The breakfast burritos on the weekends are the best! We just have to make sure we get them before they are out =D. We just tried the Earthen Jar bowls and they are a great addition to the prepared foods section. Love Ypsi co-op!
