Patrick has completely turned things around. As the new owner, he’s doing an outstanding job, and the whole shop feels like a much better place with him in charge.

This is the only place I’m willing to take my car in for work around town as all the other mechanics charge way too much or treat you like your interrupting or wasting their time by calling ahead. When you call Paradigm they pick up the phone right away (with a great attitude), get your appointment booked as soon as possible, and from my experience their work is honest and professional. Steven is always very helpful with any concerns or questions, will give you a detailed overview on what to replace next and very affordable. Probably the best priced alignment around.

🚨 Serious Warning – Do Not Use This Shop
On May 5, 2025, I brought my 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to Paradigm Automotive for a PCM replacement.
For nearly two months, I received minimal updates. On July 2, I returned to the shop and demanded my Jeep back. And refund I was told to come back on July 8 for a refund, which was not issued on that date. It was paid out a full week later, only after repeated follow-up.
After reinstalling the replacement PCM myself, I discovered a buried splice inside the engine harness—likely done by a prior mechanic. This hidden modification was feeding incorrect voltage into the PCM circuit. Paradigm had the Jeep for weeks and never mentioned or addressed the issue.
They didn’t cause the splice, but they didn’t catch it either—despite working directly on the PCM and having full access. Their failure to investigate thoroughly could’ve caused permanent damage, fire risk, or a misdiagnosis costing thousands.
Do not use this shop. If your issue involves wiring, drivability, or anything more advanced than an oil change, take your business elsewhere.

Brought the truck in due to engine light on and a rapid chain like sound happening upon coasting. They came back with cv axels ripped and some other stuff and oil needed and brakes needed. I told them to fix what warranty covers. Which they don’t cover oil change and brakes and I can do that anyways. I was told upon picking it up that the issue was due to the cv axels. Well I didn’t even get it home before the issue occurred again… $400 for the issue to not be fixed. Brought it back for them to tell me now the issue is metal shavings in the oil or something, and wanted me to then pay AGAIN for diagnostics… why the hell would it be on the customer for them to diagnose a second time because they couldn’t get it right the first time?
Rip off.
Save your money and go somewhere that will fix the issue the FIRST time!
Won’t be back there.

Do your self a favor and just don't.I took my 2007 Expedition to them this last winter to have them diagnose a slight stutter on heavy acceleration. They told me it needed new heads (I had used them previously and not had issues so I believed them). When I asked if they could do that and what it would cost me I was told it would end up being cheaper to just do a motor swap. We talked pricing and I agreed to have the work done. We agreed that I would drop my Expedition off when the used motor came in.Fast forward a month or 2 and they finally called and said the motor was is. I arranged a drop off day and time and paid 4k for the work. They told me it would only take 2-3 days to have all the work done. After dropping it off it sat in front of their shop for a day without moving. This was my daily driver so I expected it to be done in the 3 day window I was quoted. I got a call a couple of days later saying the motor they put in was bad and they had to take it back out and get a different one. I ended up having to get a rental car as mine obviously wasn't going to be done in the window quoted. They repeatedly promised it would be done by the middle of the following week. I kept calling to check on it since I needed to return my rental. They then told me the second motor was bad and that I would be better to just swap heads from one of the used motors and put it on my original motor. During this discussion I agreed to have the timing chain and components changed since they had to completely pull the motor out again.I renewed my rental for a second week with promise all the work would be done by then. Second week comes and goes and it's still not done. I ended up having to make different arrangements for a vehicle since I could not afford to keep doing a rental. They claimed to have no loner car and wouldn't help with the cost of a rental. I continually had to call to try and get updates on my vehicle they never called me. They ended up sending it to their Brainard location claiming to not have enough space and a person to dedicate just to fixing it. After repeatedly calling they finally said it was done weeks later. My husband went to pick it up for me since we work in Brainerd and that's where it was. We were told someone would meet him there to get the keys. He waited 45 minutes for someone to show up. When someone finally did arrive they weren't even there to meet him but another couple also waiting for their keys. When he started it there were lights on all over the dash that weren't there when we dropped it off. There was antifreeze and oil all over in the engine compartment, my lift gate no longer worked, and the seat I dropped off to have them install was missing. I called Paradigm the next day about it and they said to bring it back. I dropped it back off and they had it for a couple more weeks. When they called and said it was done I went to pick it up.They had installed the seat but didn't put the buckle part on the new one. Within a week the check engine light came back on. I dropped it off and was told it was because my gas gauge didn't work and that there were stored codes for misfires. They cleared the codes and said should be fine. A few days later it was running rough, acting like it didn't want to shift right, and not idling correctly. I was told to swing it by but ended up having to call and have them tow it since I wasn't sure it would make it back to Aitkin. It sat in the parking lot for days before they picked it up. I was told it jumped the timing and it was fixed and good to go. A couple of days later I had to take it back to have them secure the mud flap/wheel well on the driver's side since it was just flopping around. It was also missing a lug nut. The lift gate was never fixed either. After all that it still didn't run right but Paradigm didn't seem to have any intentions of making it right. Here we are 6 months and about 4,000 miles later and it's now throwing a code for timing issues and misfires on all cylinders. I now am

Over the Memorial Day weekend my truck broke down. I contacted Nate at Paradigm Auto first thing Tuesday morning hoping he could get me in to replace an alternator so that I could travel 8 hours back to my home in Iowa on Wednesday. He was extremely accommodating and told me to bring it in and they would take care of it. I had it towed 20 miles to the shop, and sure enough, the alternator had failed and was replaced quickly. Both Nate (the owner) and Steven (the technician) were very good to work with and VERY competent in their work.I had another matter (not associated with the alternator) come up before I left that I had them also check out. Once again, they worked me right in and fully resolved the problem. I cannot express how impressed and grateful I was with their customer service, patience and skill, and the whole experience of working with them. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!!!Services: Electrical repair
