I implore you to remove the slanderous and review full of lies posted by Shannon McKenzie, a woman who has never actually taken a pet to this clinic. Instead, she posted false accusations against a Certified Veterinary Technician who cares more about animals than anyone I know. Every single word in her review is false, and completely undeserved. Katelyn Johnson is one of the best vet techs employed by Banfield, and any pet that she sees is lucky to have such a caring individual caring for them.

You have a veterinary technician in your employ named Katelyn Johnson who does not feel dogs should be properly cared for. She feels dental care is a wasted expense. I would NEVER take one of my animals anywhere where there is employed a person who does not put the best interest of an animal first. No one should trust this clinic, or anywhere that employs poor quality veterinary technician staff such as this. The care and the health of your pets is simply too important to risk.

To say our recent visit to "Banfield" in Apple Valley was a nightmare would be an understatement: 1) The nurse did not smile once during our entire visit; I had the impression that neither the dog patient nor the owner was welcomed or respected; 2) the vet spent a few minutes with my dog and prescribed three medications; the bill increased to $211. The nurse didn't even give me a paper bag for the meds until I asked for one: 3) my dog developed cherry eye, instead of anti-inflammatory eye medications, the vet prescribed an expensive antibiotic eye ointment. My dog's eye is noticeably worse after applying the ointment, and 4) I did not receive a call or email from Banfield to check on the dog, as I usually do after a vet visit.

I live right next to this one and I drive down to the savage one so I don’t have to deal with their staff.

Really nice people there. Our Great Dane died on the way to see son. I called for help with issue. I dropped our Izzy off and set up arrangements for final resting place. All personnel there signed and mailed us a card for our loss. They included paw prints and a nose print. Izzy was old and knew her time was coming to an end. Kaitlyn helped with arrangements. She helped us out tremendously.

Good morning!! Banfield has AWESOME vets and a welcoming 'puppy package'!! However, be aware that through our family(s) three dogs, and a long history with Banfield, be prepared to be talked down to by all of the front line staff. It is though they cannot help themselves in talking to clients as though they are second class citizens, snarky bites about any little misstep. I understand that they deal with animals and pet owners all day and we are not in a vet clinic every day, but we are literate, we do actually raise children, not just animals and many of us have degrees, are professionals and are literate! We do not appreciate the attitude and nasty bites coming from almost children that appear to have control over our animals in situations. Clean up your front end staff! I have not had an encounter at Banfield that I did not leave insulted or angry. The vets and back door staff do an amazing job of clearing the air, but here is an idea, think about customer service on the FRONT END!!!

What I like best is the option to set up the drop off and pick up time. You don't have to wait for the whole process in which their schedule can be hectic

To Banfields credit, their regional manager reached out to me. She was extremely professional, looking for ways to correct my personal situation as well as opportunities to improve the customers experience in the Apple Valley location. I'll further update my rating if I go back and what that experience is like

I'd select negative starts if I could!! Please, please, please, do not take your pets here!! There are multiple reasons they have such horrible ratings and reviews! I've had nothing but horrible experiences with them after starting with them as a new vet for my pups after moving to the area a few months ago. I've lost work time to take pet to vet to find they didn't have the appointment scheduled (despite text confirming appointment) and told they're online system has issues, but no apologies. They couldn't find past vet records that were sent twice previously, including while in the office and they had confirmed receipt. Can't figure out how to tell prices if products or to even ring them up. Was not billed correctly, despite asking, and now after a week and a half after the appointment I receive a call that if the portion of the bill they messed up isn't paid today, it is being sent to collections!! I called manager (Angela) and she is nasty. Said it was my fault the 2 dogs were under different accounts, which it isn't, but they were asked to correct from the start and never did. Angela also lied to me stating she had called 3 times about the outstanding bill when the only call I received from her was TODAY! And for Pete sakes, it was a billing mistake they made (no apologies ever!) that I could easily take care of at our next appointment next week! I will be reporting them to the BBB. And sending them my own bill for my time lost from work due to their scheduling error!

I was able to drop off our dog, Riley Bear, at the last minute to get her wound checked out even though they were booked.

“We had a very traumatizing experience with banfield hospital in October. My family sent our dog Keki in for a neutering procedure, they asked my if I want them to put him the microchip I agreed. unfortunately everything went wrong. After the surgery, our dog was sent home tired and weak, we figured it was because of the anesthesia. He also had a fluid bump on the are they insert the microchip, i thought it was inflamed because of it. The next morning my children and I came and we found him stiff on the floor he passed away overnight , we put him in a cardboard box covered with a sheet we called Banfield and they didn’t answer so we took the body to Banfield and they didn’t have answers so they sent him to the diagnostic laboratory of University of Minnesota. We had the 1st diagnostic autopsy to see what caused him to pass away we found out it was a hemorrhage that caused his death and the surgery caused it, 2nd diagnostic says he had blood disorders.we were blaming it on ourselves but we had no idea about the blood clotting condition until the autopsy was done so we talked to the vet and she admitted that she has made a mistake and she didn’t professionally check the medical records that said about his condition and because of that mistake our dog passed away the surgery was a success but his little body couldn’t handle it, I will never forget how we saw him that morning. And if she had checked the medical records properly before the procedure the surgery would not have been done.I remember a day he broke his nail, they checked the injury and they prescribed vitamin K because his excessive bleeding. So they should have checked the red flag on their system and she said the outcome could’ve been different.my Family is traumatized me as well I had never lost anyone in my life and my little dog that I saw everyday in my home was gone. This was a tragic and preventable outcome, and we are devastated by the loss of our beloved pet. I cannot recommend Banfield hospital based on this experience, and I caution other pet owners to do their research and consider other options for their pets medical care.”
