I had such a pleasant experience in the paint dept at the Apple Valley Menards. Had a very nice young lady, Kristine (or Kristina)? help me. She was very knowledgeable & helpful!! She advised me on the right paint choice, matched the paint to my bedspread, showed me what to prep the walls with to hide marks that I could never get rid of last time I painted. Also she didnt try to sell me stuff I didnt need or the more expensive choices. Very nice young lady with a very cute accent. Don't ever get rid of her cuz I have alot of paint projects coming up!

This is a new much larger store that when we were last in this area. They were very helpful and we were able to get just what we needed to take back to Japan with us.

Apple Valley Menards is the BEST location in the whole twin cities metro! Big store, lots of selections and everything you need all in one store. This is my go to place.

I watched a manager berate an employee for buying something to drink while on the clock. Treat your employees like people!
I was going to make a purchase but put my items back and left. Never again Menards!

Don't go to Menards or Home Depot unless you have to.
Yes they're cheaper. They sell the thing and only the thing. At a local hardware store they will tell you the name of the thing and maybe an idea where you don't need to replace the thing but a part that can fix it. It costs $2-$5 more for a lot of things at a local hardware store. But what is $5 in exchange for the knowledge to only get what you need?

Disappointed today, usually enjoy going to this place. Was treated very dismissive by an employee in the garden center, was told I was able to buy a single lid for a storage tote but then when I went to check out I was told no because it might offset the count of the bottoms. Even after spending over 60 in the store. The cashier was closed off to begin with and then had several smart remarks about buying the lid. Also the GM said no to buying a single lid. Probably get some lame ass corporate response if any. Better service at home depot.

One of my items, a $6 wood fill stick, did not make it in my bag. I went in to get it. Omfg! The drama. The ridiculousness. They literally looked at security footage over a $6 item. They said it looks like you took everything and then went and searched the checkout lane tho it had been several days. In the end they refused to replace it. A $6 item. I know I left it there. I had searched my car. I was there waiting and waiting thru all of this. I wish I had just gone to Home Depot. I would have been in and out in less than 5 minutes. I love HD. They have the best customer service. They are so helpful every time I go. And they just carry better products. I hadn’t been to Menards in years and well, never, ever again.

I sent my 20 year old son to Menards to get 5 specific things. I told him to ask for help because I knew he would not know where everything would be and actually neither would I. Home Depot is the best at showing you where things are! Anyway, he asked one guy and showed him the 5 item list and the Menard's employee said, "Not sure, I'll be right back." and he never came back! He asked someone else and he said he wasn't sure and tried to find things and only found two! I ordered everything from Amazon and will get all but one tomorrow. Shopping local is not easy!!! Amazon is easy!!! I try!! So annoyed!! On my list was Woolite, capture carpet cleaner, bissel carpet cleaner, microfiber towels, vinyl window cleaner. My Order fulfilled with Amazon and probably cheaper!
