Couldn't haul or car back into state because they didn't approve our half ton. They wanted to charge 800$ to haul it one way and back on a fifteen foot trailer, ontop of that the straps look worn so badly that they'd snap under a little bit of ware. They should replace straps every 6 months to a year for safety standards, but I guess they can't even be bothered to do that. Entitled S O B S

Bought a trailer hitch installed but went to get it installed and the guy told me he couldn't install because my van was too tall to fit in his bay and acted like it was a huge inconvenience. It wasn't too tall and I wasn't going to argue. I don't think he was interested in doing installs today. I had him refund my money and I will bring my business elsewhere..

I would not use services here, customer service is poor. We had to make multiple calls to setup a time to install a hitch and I had no confidence that the correct hitch would have been installed. I did not have it installed as poor service continued when i arrived; unfriendly, bad attitudes evident with all employees, The kicker was that the desk person couldn't be bothered with wearing a mask to protect customers. He and another employee then laughed when i complained about it. There are plenty of other places to get service.

If I could give zero stars I would, I came in to get a vehicle trailer, I came in and waited over 20 minutes to talk to someone, the employees seemed they were in no hurry which was unfortunate because I was. The first person I talked to was helpful and said they had one available, then messed something up on the computer and had to call the owner over. The owner said they were having computer problems and he would help me on a different computer. I gave him my information, he busted my balls because I didn't know the exact year of the car, I tried explaining that it was a cheap derby car I was buying so I didn't know all the specifics, and he didn't seem very understanding at all. After I finally convinced him to give me a trailer he says alright I got a tow dolly here for you, I told him I said I needed a vehicle trailer and he asks why, I told him so both wheels will be off the ground since it is in poor condition and I didn't want to run the risk of blowing a tire since I have had that happen to me before and it is not fun!!! He didn't understand and tried to give me a tow dolly then I told him I'm not interested in a dolly and I need a trailer. He then tried to tell me he didn't have any in stock after the other person told me they do and it shows they do online. Keep in mind this is the OWNER of this store. Like I said I was in a rush so I said screw this i don't need to deal with this right now and left. Never gonna come back here again. I chose to go to crown rental after they were super helpful and understanding.

Part of the problem I experienced was not due to this location, but part of it was. I reserved a van online, and since they charge per mile, I naturally chose the location closest to my house. The web site allowed me to reserve the van and sent me a confirmation stating the van was reserved and listed my location as my "preferred location", which I did not read as I was driving to pick up the van. Turns out that, for inventory reasons, the location changed to Apple Valley- 7 miles out of route. This would normally not be a big deal to me, but again, they charge per mile. So, now I have 14 miles round trip to pick up the van. When I get to the Apple Valley location, a nice and totally logical person at the desk sees my point and says he will show me how to get credit for the miles by calling "traffic", he then proceeds to put some notes in my account so they would see that he and I talked about it., and he then writes the phone number to "traffic" on my contract. So I pick up the van..... I call "traffic" and they promptly tell me they cannot give credit, but they would call the Apple Valley Manager (Stephanie) and have her call me back. By this time I need to get going, so I trust they will stand behind their word and I take off. Several hours go by and no call from Stephanie. When done with the van, I drive back to the location to return it and ask to talk to Stephanie, turns out she went home for the day. A different guy behind the desk offers to call her at home, which I agree to. He and Stephanie talk for several minutes and he hangs up and proceeds to explain to me why they will not give me credit. Being a manager myself, it is appears to me that Stephanie did not call me because she did not want to tell me herself, so she made this poor guy do it - which I think is pretty weak management. Since this guy is stuck in the middle, I do not get mad at him and I ask him to just complete the return and I will be on my way. Now, we are talking about like $11 dollars here, this is not a huge financial burden to me, but it is the principle...in my estimation 1 of 3 things should have happened: 1.) they NEVER should take a reservation for a location that does not have the inventory to support it. There is really NO good reason this inventory can't be 100% live. The location I chose first should not have even come up as an option if they did not have the van 2.) If the inventory cannot be live, the system should automatically give me credit for the extra miles. It knows exactly how many miles to credit because it shows me when it tells me the new location. 3.) Stephanie definitely should have called me directly instead of putting this poor guy in the middle. She should have at least talked to me directly on the phone when he called her at home instead of making him do it. I'm sorry we bothered you at home, but you are management, that's how it goes. If you are not going to give your employees the authority to grant a measly $11 credit, then you can expect to be called ay home.

Terrible customer service. I purchased a complete tow hitch, wiring, and installation package from UHAUL's website, then scheduled an appointment for installation later that day. I specifically drove down from St Paul to Apple Valley location because they were the only location that showed having availability and parts in stock. When I arrived at my scheduled appointment time, I was told there was no one on staff that could perform the installation, and that they did NOT have necessary parts in stock. The store clerks seemed completely baffled i even had an appointment, and seemed completely unaware that appointments even could be made via the UHAUL website.
