Simply the Best place to go for walleye fishing on Lake of the Woods! Winter or summer, River Bend Resort gets my highest rating. The Johnson family, Paul, Brandi, Ryan and Matthew, will go out if their way to make sure everyone staying with them has the best time! I used to live in Baudette, so I know a lot about all of the resorts up there. Feb. 2nd. 2024.

Had a blast. Checked into a cabin the staff in the office was extremely friendly. The cabin was a little bit different than in the pictures but in a good way, a few things had been updated and switched around. Went to the bar to get a drink and the bartender and staff were also very friendly. Cooked dinner in the cabin for the first night, I wasn’t sure what to bring, it said they had pans and cooking utensils and they had enough that you could get things done next time we come and stay in a cabin I might bring another pan and definitely at least one knife, the knifes in our cabin were really small but I made it work.I’d recommend bringing your own pillows they have pillows and they get the job done definitely not what I’m used to though.Went out fishing to a day house in the morning and we had to get shuttled out in one of their heated trailers. Are guide was Greg he was also very nice and knowledgeable. He came throughout the day 3 or 4 times I think, I don’t remember how many. Your guide for the day also delivers pizza if you order it, I would definitely recommend we only brought out drinks and snacks so some nice pizza hit the spot I could have used some napkins or paper towels we forgot to ask or bring some ourselves but we were ok without them.Fishing was slow for everyone we talked to because of the cold our guide said the most he saw in someone’s bucket was 5. We caught 6 or so and had one keeper. We got are ride back to shore and they cleaned are 1 fish lol which I could have done but they offered to and anyway it gives you a chance to go to the bar relax for a bit and get some drinks or food. We had some drinks and burgers. The staff in the bar and restaurant were all really friendly again and the food was really good.I’d definitely stay here again

Did the ice fishing package with the resort and Walleye Inn. Inn was under construction/remolding. Debris was all throughout the hallway and the room was not fully put back together. This really wasn’t an issue for us since we only slept there. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The ice fishing portion of this package was the nightmare. There were 3 of us in the party and we each paid for the pole rental along with 1 flasher. On day 1, after arriving to the hut we noticed we had no poles or flasher. We assumed the poles, and everything would be in the hut when we arrived. Told the guide, he looked and said ok, got back in his vehicle and drove off. Wasn’t sure if he was returning or not. A different guide showed up with 2 poles, one had the handle on the reel missing. The guide then went back and grabbed 4 more poles leaving the broken pole with us. It was roughly an hour and a half before we were able to start fishing. Day 2 guides did not check on us as advertised and we had to call the resort at 2pm (they come to pick you up at 4:30pm) to ask why a guide hadn’t come to check on us. We literally watched the guide leave a hut that a few of the guides had been parked outside all day, come over and check on us. When he arrived, he made a sarcastic comment about the possibility of moving and I replied that at least we weren’t missing our poles today. He responded, “at least we got them to you”. As the guide left, he commented that he couldn’t make the fish bite. Totally understand that but they advertise they make sure you are catching fish and having fun. This was not the case that day. When the guide came to pick us up on day 2, the 4-wheel drive on his vehicle would not engage, got stuck and we had to get behind the vehicle and push him out so we could go pick up the other parties in our group. On day 2 we caught a total of 2 sauger under 9 inches early that morning. Both days, we were never provided, as their website states, hot tips regarding what the daily action had been or how to put more fish on the ice. We stopped by a bait shop close to the resort and talked to a local there and he gave us tips. We were transported in and out to the hut, told there were our minnows and the guides left. We ended up catching 15 fish total on day 1, one walleye was 24 inches, and the rest were under 16.The staff at the restaurant and bar were wonderful. Bartender ensured we never ran out of anything to drink and the waitress who delivered our food to us was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. The fishing part was the disappointment.I will add that we did contact the manager at the inn who relayed the information to the owners since they own both and still haven’t received a response.

Fishing guides did nothing to help you catch any fish. Talked to owner and requested to be put in a different house on day 2 being none of us caught anything on day 1 and we're not marking anything. We were told no. A crack started so then they moved us so they could move the house. These guides did nothing to help get you on fish. If you've fished with other resorts you know. First time in my life I didnt tip a guide and first time Ive written a bad review for a guide service. Girls in lodge were great though! Both morning server and evening Bar Tender. Cabin was ok as well. We wont ever fish with these people again but I would go eat and drink there.

When we booked we told them we did not want a trough house. We were told that would be fine. When we got there it was a trough. That's when they said all of their day houses are troughs. As far as the guys that took us out, and checked on us several times a day they were great. If we needed something from the office, we had to hunt somebody down. Very disappointed. We stayed at the Walleye Inn in Baudette. It was OK except there was a large crack in the bottom of the tub and you had to stand with your feet on the edge of the tub.

Had a great girl's weekend with 4 friends. Gets busy in the bar/restsurant asking 6 til 9, but staff does a great job getting everyone served. Will be back next year!

I stayed at a sleeper ice house for two mid-week nights in January. The people here could not have been more accommodating. They cleaned our fish for us right on the lake so we could cook them ourselves in our ice house (there's a law about brining cleaned fish into the lake). They checked on us multiple times during our stay and taught us what we needed to know to have a successful fishing trip. The ice house was clean and warm. The beds were very comfortable. We had a great stay and I'd recommend River Bend to anyone.

The Walmart of the Northwoods, if I wanted to be my own server and order my own food and drinks I'd go to McDonald's. Dislike this model. On the plus side you don't need to tip.

Locally owned. Great location. Great staff that are very friendly and helpful. The food was also good. The cabin was clean and was perfect for our group of 4. This was the first time in LOW for these guys. Fishing was phenomenal. Keith guides full time for RB and he was great. Worked hard to get fish. We will be back!

Newly remodeled cabins right in the river with a nice view and quick access to the lake for both, charter and personal boats. Water was covering dock but they recently moved the fish cleaning house up hill and it was new and nicely done. Only opportunity to improve, or something to remember, is they provide dish soap, but not hand soap (or any toiletries) in bathroom. Otherwise it's always a great time and the walleye fishing is awesome! You can catch sturgeon right off the dock at night and the Saturday night fishfry is delicious!
