Food was mediocre at best. Bland. Soggy hard shells on both taco and tostada. Lettuce had preservative aftertaste. The best items were chicken enchiladas and rice and beans.

I used to love going here, but I have never been treated like such garbage in any restaurant I've ever been in. When I ordered my Enchiladas Rancharas, there was no meat. I asked them to replace it, and by the time they did, 20 minutes later, we were finished. The only thing they didn't charge me for was the meal they never gave me. If they get your meal right, you will probably be happy. If they screw it up, you will pay for their mistakes. I used to love them. I will never go back after being treated like a piece of garbage. This was from people who knew me. Garbage in, garbage out.

On Friday April 19, 2024 my husband and I went to happy hour at El Loro on Lyndale Ave in Bloomington and we had a total of 3 margaritas sitting at the bar. We paid, leaving an $8.37 tip. Then on Sunday my credit card company sent me a notice asking if I left a 33% tip - which is $18.37. This means someone added a “1” to illegally increase my tip amount. This is stealing. It was intentional. When I called to tell them about it, I got ZERO apology and was asked to “call back tomorrow because we are very busy right now”. Then I was told they needed me to bring in my bank statement to prove it - and that was the only way to return the $10 they stole from me. Putting the burden on me to ‘prove’ the $10 tip change feels insulting and petty. We have been long time, loyal customers- and I would have accepted a gracious apology and a promise to reprimand the employee- and hey, maybe an offer of a future discount to make it up. But nope. There was zero apology, zero care for the fact that their employees are stealing from customers. Unfortunately I may not ever go back because it’s just wrong.

I love El Loro, they have been a favorite for years. Great food, reasonable prices, and large portions. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Margarita's are wonderful.

Recently had a bad experience, hopefully it was a off night feel for the owner and the good staff, but the problem wasn't resolved and after multiple attempts to talk to someone put too much effort on my end, just over it currently don't plan to go back. In there defense it was busy but no one offered to take my information so I could follow up with the owner so it's whatevers at this point.

Mediocre food compared to other mexican restaurants in the area. Several errors by server. 3% unexplained service charge. Used to be much better (former 494&100 location).

The food was very good. I had the Enchiladas Poblanas. It was really good. The brown mole sauce was very good and not real spicy. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant. The only negative comment is the music was too loud. Hard to hold a decent conversation without yelling.

Delicious food and complimentary chips, salsa and Mexican ranch. Though, they only have one option of white claw, black cherry. The drink menu is really sugary otherwise too. I had the vegetarian chimichanga. ?

The service wasn't that bad but they are definitely very insistent that you order now! The food was okay, nothing extraordinary. But the margarita at this place is definitely terrible, it tastes like cheap liquor with very synthetic flavors and if you order it flavored oh God!! They are exaggeratedly sweet.Last summer we had a family meeting the waitress, who by the way was very nice and kind, offered us mojitos and wow, you can't imagine how wonderful they were, very natural, I've never tried one like it but I think it's only seasonal. Or maybe they took them off the menu. ??

Hands down the best Latin restaurant I've been to! From the cute portraits on the tables and chairs to the amazing food. I wouldn't recommend anywhere

Food is phenomenal, I love the white salsa they bring with the red salsa and food has always been cooked to perfection serving sizes are NICE and the drinks are great.Had a super sweet waitress wish i would've caught her name but she was efficient, kind and sweet. Which is hard to find now days. The other staff has always been kind as well. We make it almost a weekly visit !

Stopped in to purchase chips and Queso for a get together. I also purchased a container of salsa. I got to my get together and it was a container of Mexican ranch and not Queso. I called later that evening and said to the manager that I was disappointed that I basically paid $20 for a container of salsa. His response was well everything is expensive now and the restaurant has to make a profit.

Diego and Eliu were so great and accommodating. We came in at the last minute and there was no rush to order or eat and leave. They care about their customers experience and creating a great welcoming vibe for everyone. The tacos and rice & beans were soo good I can’t wait to eat the rest later. This is a caring family owned business and you can feel how much they care.
