I went to the GameStop in the Mall of America today to buy a PlayStation Portal for my husband. They have them in stock. The sales person let me pick the color and was ringing me up when he said I needed a Pro membership to buy it. I left empty handed. Reddit has a thread on this that says Pro memberships are not required to buy consoles at GameStop stores - it’s a sales tactic some stores use not corporate policy. I will not be back.

When I walked in I heard loud talking, thought they were arguing. They sold me a not working game. The cashier with long blonde curly hair was pushy and rude. Spent 5 minutes trying to get me to create an account and buy warrantee. Called them about the game and they hung up the phone on me.

Had a good experience shopping for games with my daughter, but good lord once we got to the register we felt so uncomfortable. Paid $50 for two used games and the dude at the register was hell bent on arguing with me about why I wouldn't purchase a $10 warranty. He probably went on for about 3 minutes while other people were waiting.

Got harassed about not using a membership ?
Went to checkout 3 Pokémon cards , and the guy with curly hair asked us if we had a membership and after saying no he rudely replied “ IM NOT ASKING IF YOU WANT TO SIGN UP , it’s a yes or no question , do You have a membership “ , we replied no like 5 x and he kept pushing about this membership and than after saying “ can we just checkout “ his reply was “ fine , pay more money than . I don’t care “ and just kept repeating that the whole transaction. Like dude , get a grip . Bad service .

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Would rate negative stars!! Me and my boyfriend went in there and he got 2 games, when checking out the employee with long blonde curly hair started to guilt trip my boyfriend into getting the warranty for 2 games and after many times of both of us telling him no he started to argue with us and started to be extremely rude. Apparently he doesn't know what the word no means.

Employee KEEGAN (or teagan, idk its the white with the mad frizzy hair) was so incredibly pushy the whole time. My husband went in to buy singles for cards (our total was only $4) and he kept trying to convince him to buy the Gamestop Membership. My partner mentioned that we don’t come to Gamestop that often and his response was “well you’re here now.” My partner declined over four times until finally I interjected and went “he said no.” It was so awkward and he just kept being pushy. Like, dude, I get that your job is reliant (to an extent) about selling the memberships but after the second no you’re just being annoying.
Ended up going the week after (my family was visiting Minnesota for the first time and they wanted to go to the mall) as one my cousins wanted to buy Pokemon packs. BRO. There was a customer in front of us that had been waiting for ten minutes because Keegan told him that he couldn’t buy the Pokemon packs and could only sell them to members (a lie — he just wanted to sell the membership once again). When it was finally our turn to pay, Keegan kept pushing my cousin about it as well. He seemed butthurt (again) that he was being declined for the membership and said that he doesn’t do Pokemon because he’s a “real gambler” and does CS:GO instead. First of all…go outside.. And secondly, stop being so pushy! He ruins the whole experience of being here.

Walked in and thought someone was arguing, until we realized an employee was really passionate about explaining something to a customer. Employee continues to go above and beyond for every customer even when there was a 3+ person line waiting to checkout. I get being passionate about your job, but check your surroundings. Some people wanna just get their shit and go.

Just left gamestop after going to this one since I was a kid and will NOT be going back. My boyfriend and I went in looking for a game and was excited to see that we found it and was looking forward to playing it tonight. When we got to the desk the guy was very nice…but would not stop hounding about getting a warranty. We told him we were not interested at least 5 times and kept asking why…We felt so uncomfortable and said never mind to the game and ultimately walked out without the game. Horrible at reading the room and taking no for an answer. Do better.

Don’t try talking to Van, incredibly disrespectful to my son and his friend. I had them put their purchases back in the shelf and we’re going to a different Game Stop right now.

Maybe when people say no to the rewards program listen the first time. We said no 6 times and the clerk continued to pressure us. No means no.

Small but good selection of games. Staff need a chill pill, they push really hard on the insurance and packages.

The one cashier is super aggressive. Tried to sell me their scam protection replacement plan for the games I purchased. I politely declined 4 times. Says "are you sure? It's only $2 a game. So if the game breaks you're just gonna buy a new one?" Then he tried to upsell me the premium membership. Someone needs to teach this kid that "no means no!"

I came from out of town, bought a pre-owned game No More Heroes III for the Nintendo Switch, was about to buy it and noticed my wallet went missing. As I’m paranoid enough as is, the cashier was still asking me if I wanted the protection plan as if I was not already looking for my wallet. The game was bought; however, they NEVER put the game in box so when I got back to my hotel and looked in the game box they never put it in. As I have a flight tomorrow morning, I have a game box but no game and no way to go to the store as I am flying back home. Now I have to call the bank to reverse this transaction because I am not spending money for a damn box with no game in it. Perfect timing to sideswipe me as I am looking for my wallet, having my friend pay for me as I am distracted not to make sure the game is in the box.
