“Always great suggestions from the staff. Don’t see what you want? I have had them to offer to order it in for me. Amazing staff and products. I no longer shop “big name” liquor stores; they are my go to.”

“The best liquor store with the friendliest people. The gentleman that usually works the counter always knows how to bring a smile on people's faces. Such a wonderful and nice man. We need more like him!”

“The salesperson working was very personable and helpful. I was looking for pre-made cocktails in a can, and when I asked the salesperson what they had, he showed me each brand and explained the alcohol contents along with the pros and cons of each. I bought two different brands, and they were both refreshing!”

“Cool little liquor store that has been in the same location for decades! Small selections though and few allocated bourbon bottles get priced through the roof. I would get my basics here though.”

“An awesome neighborhood locally owned liquor store with a great selection (especially when it comes to wine) and reasonable prices! I used their order ahead and pickup option for the first time today for Mother's Day - since I'm out of state and wanted to surprise my mom with a premium bottle of wine. I didn't put the order in until after they closed the night prior, so I called in the morning to find out if they received it and had the wine in stock. Not only did the guy who answered check on my order as corporate had not sent it along yet, but he took the time to walk over and check to ensure they had the bottle and keep it behind the counter for my mom when she picked it up. What was even MORE SWEET!? They actually wrapped the bottle in some wrapping and a ribbon for my mom so it truly was a surprise for her to open. The kindness and extra effort they put in just to make it special for my mom was SOOOO INCREDIBLE I'm forever grateful to them. Thank you to the sweet guy who answered the phone and helped. Sad I didn't get your name or I'd personally shout you out here but thank u for the above and beyond customer service! Haskells, you have a customer for LIFE thanks to them!”

“They have a well stocked wine selection that is well organized and a pretty good selection of craft beers. They often have sales on some items that allow for some great deals.”

“Guys working were awesome. First time in Minneapolis and stopped in to get some bourbon for hotel. Did not have Buffalo Trace out on shelve and said only getting few bottles a week. Staff pulled one out of back room for me and gave personal one. Said he get one on Wednesday. Very good people!”

“The staff was very nice and attentive. I work at a liquor store as well and we were just looking around. None of them were pushy but shared their knowledge of the things we were looking at. I will DEFINITELY be sending my customers there for the harder to find items!”

“Grocery store, all new to me, we were in Minnesota because I had appointments @ Mayo Clinic. So we got acquainted with a few of the grocery stores. I found that groceries are somewhat more expensive here; however, there's no tax on food or clothing.”

“I'd been a bartender for years, but I've never had a taste for alcohol personally. The only times I find myself in a liquor store have been as a promotional model or to grab gifts for friends. (Weirdly, even though I don't drink, I'm great at figuring out what a friend might like and have introduced a few friends to their favorites.) I typically gravitate towards larger chain establishments that have a massive inventory of every type of liquor under the sun. I might not drink, but the variety fascinates me as much as the branding does to me as a brand consultant, and larger chains simply have more interesting offerings for me to choose from for gifts. It's a very rare occasion that I find myself in a smaller establishment. *(Letterkenny voice) To be faaair,* MGM is a statewide chain with medium-sized shops throughout the Twin Cities. The stores aren't small per se, just smaller than the liquor megastores I'd infrequently visit. Staying focused on local demographics benefits MGM well. For instance, Minnesota is known for being one of the biggest states for beer-drinking and ranked among the lowest for whiskey consumption. MGM inventory revolves around these localized needs, so bottles aren't likely to collect dust. During my evening visit to this MGM location, I was fascinated to witness exactly how much localized patterns come into play at a smaller liquor store. Amber, specifically, caught my attention as she silently pulled bottles of this or that liquor, mixer, chaser off of the shelves beside the register as soon as a guest entered the establishment, nary a word or even glance exchanged between her and any of those guests before they either went about the store or got straight in line for her pulled bottles. Amber had rung up these regulars so often over the years that she knew their habits by heart. Pair that with her warm, bubbly nature: Automatic five stars. Taylor and Sam were awesome too. I still sip on alcohol maybe twice a year at celebrations. The closest I've come to finding alcohol I actually enjoy is mead. Safe to say, mead doesn't register high on the Minnesotan drinking list - or that of any state, for that matter, so I'll still stick to national chain liquor stores to hunt for unique gifts or maybe one day find something I actually like. Fun fact: The last time I actively looked into mead was 2019, and the entire section of mead bottles at the liquor megastore I visited was covered in dust, for an idea of how popular mead is. All said, I'm happy that MGM Bloomington exists for the neighborhoods it serves. MGM, if you're reading this, treat Amber well - you've got a great representative there.”
