I took a client here for support and advocacy for an ailment. The ER doctor made their diagnosis within seconds of looking at the area. When I, the patients advocate, tried to ask what the patient should do from here, he simply kept repeating the same diagnosis in an increasingly stern and passive tone. I explained I am not trying to be disrespectful or trying to debate him, I was simply trying to ask 1, if the suspected diagnosis presents itself in a specific way and 2, how to move forward. He AGAIN repeats the same diagnosis. Uncaring, cold, and seemingly defensive for no reason. I was surprised at how absolutely unprofessional they were. If you don't have the same passion for treating patients, maybe you should consider retirement. Horrible. If I was in that providers shoes I would be absolutely ashamed of my conduct and performance. In my opinion, this is borderline medical negligence.

When your doctors don't keep up to date on diseases and illnesses and still refer to their 1950s style diagnostics, should probably re evaluate what you are doing. Most rude ignorant ppl ever.

A CT scan 3 months ago showed a kidney stone but instead of sending me to the urologist, I did ultra sounds, was sent to Mankato for a biopsy, then to the G.I doctor just to end up in the e.r two months later with an impacted kidney stone and had surgery a week later to remove it. You could of saved me thousands of dollars by treating the stone instead of treating me for everything but, but I guess charging the insurance companies for bogus charges is how they make their money. I understand why everyone leaves town now for doctors.

I had to visit this institution early 3:30 AM or 4:30 AM Christmas Eve day. They were very professional, and the facility is fabulous. I move around a lot, and I was relieved to see how wonderful this hospital truly is since I now live here. It's super clean. The people are very professional and thoughtful and kind. I really appreciate the wonderful service and care I received.

UHD nurse 's & doctors are great.But UHD does have other issues.You have the right to not have certain health information posted in your charting & UHD doesn't respect that.So do get care here for anything you don't want every nurse & care provider to see.Also more recently labs orders from my specialty are not visible even though I signed care everywhere releases & now UHD is having trouble with getting specialists lab orders in. We tried sending directly to Labs fax & to medical records fax, so it looks like UHD either needs a better IT person or new equipment.Either way UHD is not doing as well as they could with patient care in the community, because of these issues .I guess medical care in small communities has it limitations & draw backs, which is to bad , I happenen to like supporting our local business.Both Drs I've seen at UHD are wonderful , caring & good at communicating in a way you can see understand.If you have a outside specialist labs or images sent to UHD, best you check to see they received them, don't assume their equipment is working correctly.I had 3 specialist tell me they aren't able to see the results from their orders sent to UHD in December.If I see a improvement I'll be sure to address it in this post.

Update: I spoke with the billings manager and was not treated very well. She was unprofessional and rude. I still didn’t have my questions/concerns answered. I hope they don’t treat everyone this way.I am thankful there is a hospital in blue earth for when people need it. Unfortunately I have had a lot of issues with billing and am having a hard time wanting to get back here by choice. The hospital staff is okay, I haven’t had any issues personally. The big issue i have had are charges on my account, calls about paying them and then soon after they are taken away and I am presented with a different charge. This makes me not want to pay the charges when they call me about them, as they have taken and presented charges randomly (and why pay charges that they are just going to take away and not charge you) I am super disappointed with how they go about charging people. I also think they are overpriced and being dishonest and lazy.For example, I had a procedure that needed to be done and I struggled for a month and a half, trying to get UHD to accept the order from a specialist in Mankato and giving me a price on how much it would be out of pocket. I called them several times and not once did they try and reach out to me. I was then quote for that procedure- 4 times more expensive at UHD than going to a doctor who specializes in this procedure in Mankato (even when paying out of pocket, the whole amount the same day). Then I got a call from UHD saying that my insurance will cover the procedure and they wanted to schedule. I told them I would need to check with my insurance because they have told me before they do NOT cover this procedure. Sure enough, I called my insurance and they assured me they didn’t cover it, and I would be paying out of pocket. Super disappointed, wouldn’t recommend going here if you had the choice.

For the most part I am very happy with the care I receive here.But I have one major complaint.If you use the counciling service here they put literally everything you talk about in your general chart so literally any one who can see your chart ethically & unethically can see very private information. That includes any specialty clinic like mayo or Sanford clinics and once Sanford joins with the clinic system in twin cities ( Fairview if I recall correctly). That's way to many clinics employees that can see information that only your councilor should have access to.Uhd will not remove this information from general view, they stupidly believe periodically checking to see who's accessed your chart later for appropriate acess is some how protecting your privacy rights.That's Not even close to protecting your privacy, that nothing more than house cleaning inappropriate actions after the fact.If you are seeking counseling, go someplace else unless you don't care if anyone that works in medical field can see what your dealing with ( and potentially your issues could become a topic of local gossip, my sisters a retired nurse, so I know things are shared that should have remained private).Bottom line, don't use couciling services through this clinic.

I will be making the hour or more drive to come to this hospital regularly.I’m late in posting this as I received care in July 2022. I’m 29 years old and they diagnosed and treated me immediately with something that all other doctors have dismissed since I was 13, other doctors saying it was just “anxiety.”Not to be dramatic but this care has quite literally changed my life and in the long run, saved it.I praise God for the answers. I am so grateful for the team here.For clarification this was a one time ER visit and I have not yet seen a regular doctor here yet. I am looking forward to it.

Absolutely some of the best care we have ever received. My daughter who has rare immune deficiency, and always gets the rare illnesses was treated thoroughly and thoughtfully. The doctor said that he had only seen 2 other people in his career with her medical condition. Most doctors dismiss it because there is not alot known about it, but this doctor acknowledged and allowed us to explain her condition to him. Absolutely amazed and would completely drive the drive to go back again!Thank you all!!

Delivered both my babies there, everyone from the OB, to the nurses, to the girls in the lab, to the hospital staff went above and beyond in making us comfortable the entire pregnancy. They also all went out of their way to ensure our babies were born healthy and we felt like we mattered. Amazing experience.
