Great small rescue with a store on the premises. All available dogs are in foster care. Very nice volunteers as well

Worst adoption experience ever!! I will never recommend this place to anyone. They don't care about anything but the money. There's so many adoption centers out there DO NOT GO TO THIS ONE!! They have absolutely no clue what they are doing and how to take care of dogs, they find fosters that will lie just as much as they do to get your money. This place should be shut down immediately.

Northern Lakes Rescue team got back to me within an hour of submitting my adoption application. They were prepared to offer the adoption process as quick or slow as I needed. They allowed me to meet my puppy first, and within a week, I was settled in with my pup! Everyone in this organization is doing such a great job and I admire them all so much.

Shannon and her staff goes above and beyond to save dogs. Period. Whatever it takes she is there. Answers the call whenever and wherever she is requested. It’s a been a pleasure to foster to adopt with Northern Lakes Rescue. Keep up the good work! It’s not always easy but it’s worth it!

I have adopted, volunteered, and fostered with Northern Lakes Rescue and have had a great experience with all. If you're curious about doing any of those, I would encourage you to fill out an application for whichever it is you're interested in and get more info!

Totally screwed me over took 7 puppies told me they would spay the mother dog. Sold all the puppies and quit answering my texts.

We adopted our Ben last July and had a wonderful experience. Not only do they help local dogs, they also do transfers from down south. Our sweet boy was a stray from Houston, Texas. Such a great organization doing amazing things!

I adopted “Taquito “ 1 week ago from Northern Lakes Rescue. He came to us from Texas and what a long journey he had!Everyone on the team worked so hard to transport him to Minnesota. Thank you for your support of these amazing precious souls!He is the most adorable, loving and intelligent little Chihuahua I’ve ever met!I hope people everywhere will continue to contribute to your wonderful work in rescuing these animals from such horrible conditions and give them a second chance at a better life and their furever homes!

We filled out an application to adopt one of their dogs and it took a while to get back to us so we went to one of their adoption events to look at another dog we wanted. They still hadn't looked at our approval application but they made some quick calls to our references and approved us within a couple of hours. All the foster people were great. They really care about the animals and make sure they get a good furever home! We were able to take our new family member home the same day.

We had a fabulous experience adopting our puppy from Northern Lakes Rescue. It was a quick process (a week), and we really appreciated the meet and greet prior to adoption.
