“Bob's is an awesome place for catering an event. We had the fried chicken dinners for our dad’s funeral and everyone raved!! The church ladies also like working with you, which says a lot! It’s also a great place to pick up lunch or dinner or a do a quick grocery trip.”
“Fresh, local produce in what can be referred to as the food desert of North. The staff are nice. It can be a bit pricey, and sometimes things will be out of stock, but I am so glad to have them in the neighborhood. Update 3/1/25 : over the years they have improved the layout and gotten much better at identifying the items and prices. Given the growth of Indian population and almost everyone around NW suburbs visiting, they could consider lowering the Covid inflated prices.”

“We’ve been members for as long as I can remember. Great small co-op with excellent local selections. They’ve done a lot over the past few years to stock products that are price-accessible, though overall the selections are a little on the expensive side. The deli section never disappoints. The staff are always friendly and attentive.(The Hungarian mushroom soup was the best, but they haven’t had it for a couple years now!)”

“Dragon Star Supermarket is a fantastic international grocery store. It offers a vast selection of specialty items, making it a great place to explore different cuisines and ingredients. The prices on their meat and fish are excellent, providing good value for your money.
One of the highlights of Dragon Star Supermarket is undoubtedly the hot food area. You can easily spend a significant amount of time browsing the aisles and discovering new products.
My family loves Dragon Star Supermarket! The diverse selection of international foods and spices is particularly appealing. It's also been a staple for us, especially because it makes it easier to find a variety of African staple foods for my grandma to enjoy.
It's also worth noting that, although I haven't personally experienced any issues, some friends of mine have mentioned the importance of checking the expiration dates on the spices they might be expired or covered with a different expiration date.
This is a good practice to follow in general, and Dragon Star Supermarket seems to provide a good selection of international products, including spices.”
