We’ve surfed with Mike several times over the past few years and it’s always a fabulous experience. He’s a great instructor for newbies and occasional surfers. You won’t find a more beautiful surf boat and his playlist is always top tier.

I booked an efoil lesson. Mike was awesome, he’s a great teacher and was even able to move my appointment up an hour earlier. I highly recommend, I had a great time.

Absolutely amazing experience with Mike for wake surfing! He was incredibly patient and exuded such positive vibes throughout the lesson. As a newcomer, I felt completely at ease with his inviting and thorough instructions. Mike’s passion for wake surfing truly shines through, making the entire experience unforgettable. We hired Mike for wake surfing and the experience couldn't have been better. He helped teach newbies how to easily get up (even people who were really unsure they wanted to even try it) and helped improve others who have been at it awhile to pull 360's and push themselves in other ways - all the while staying incredibly positive and making it super fun for everyone. He will become a summer staple on our vacations at Lake Carlos.

My experience was AMAZING! I booked 3 hours for an afternoon to learn new wake surf tricks with 3 friends. The crew at Hang Loose MN were easy to work with and generous with their time and talents. The G23 is a fantastic boat with a worldclass wave.
Capt. Mike is a great coach and helped each of us move closer to our individual goals. I have years of bad habits to break but now I have the 411 on what to do to be successful : )
The smile on my buddy's face as he foiled, rope free, was priceless... like he was 5 years old and in total flow state. Capt. Mike's instructions for foiling behind a wake boat were spot on and easy to follow!
I left the session feeling confident that I will be able to nail some new tricks by the end of this season as well as a much better understanding of how to use wake settings to help new surfers get up behind our boat.
I am already planning my next strike mission to Lake Carlos for another 411 download and adventure.
Pro tip: There is a great little burger and ice cream place called Tip Top Dairy Bar (22 W Nokomis St, Osakis, MN 56360) that is a must try... either before or after your session with Capt. Mike

We LOVE Hangloose!! Our four kids have done numerous kid camps over the past few years and always rave about the super fun experience!! We have also booked family surf sessions with Mike and thoroughly enjoy our time with him on the lake. Mike’s expertise and chill demeanor make Hangloose a must-do summer activity!!

We always have an incredible day out on the lake with Mike and Hangloose. We’ve used wake-surfing as a family reunion fun day, a corporate event, and even taken advantage of their summer camp for kids. No matter what the occasion, it has been a blast for all ages.

Wake surfing here is the most fun we have had on a lake. Mike does a great job instructing and the atmosphere is amazing. We have gone 3 times over the last two summers and will definitely go again.

One of my favorite places to visit every summer!! The gang at Hangloose does an amazing job and it is a highlight every summer to work on our surfing skills with Hangloose! We will be back soon!
