I recently visited Kai Salon for caramel highlights and a haircut, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations — primarily due to clear overbooking and poor scheduling.
The stylist, while kind, was clearly handling too many clients at once without any support. I spent a long time waiting while she finished another client’s hair, and when she returned to mine, there was not enough time left to properly complete the service. The toner was barely left on, resulting in highlights that are barely noticeable. The haircut I scheduled was completely skipped, and the appointment ended with a rushed, partial blow-dry and no styling — all due to the next client arriving and no other staff available to assist.
This is not a reflection of the stylist’s skill or effort, but rather a management issue. When appointments are overbooked and understaffed, the quality of service inevitably suffers — and unfortunately, the customer is the one left paying the price, both literally and in terms of results.
For over $200, I expected professional service, full attention to the scheduled services, and a finished look. I left with none of that.
I hope the salon reevaluates how appointments are scheduled moving forward. For a salon that carries the Aveda name, a higher standard of service should be maintained.

Nice atmosphere and salon. I asked a coworker with really gorgeous hair, who did her hair and was referred to Jewels here. I haven't been to a salon in a decade and have been doing my own hair. Jewels was very sweet, listened to what I needed, and did a knockout job for my upcoming birthday. Much gratitude. Thanks, Jewels!

Booked an appointment for my 12 yr daughter of daughter. Told them at booking it was for a kid and she was 12 so I’m thinking $30ish based on the prices on their website. My daughter is super excited sitting in the chair and stylist comes back over and tells me she’s not rated as a kid and it’ll be $70. My options are to swallow it or walk my crying kid out of the salon. I felt taken advantage of. Not a good experience.
As far as the cut, it was well done, this would have been a 1 star if it hadn’t been.

My first experience was awesome! She listened, understood my hair type and the hair transition I am going through. She did an excellent job styling it (despite the transition) she charged 70.
Unfortunately, the lady that cut my hair that day, is not working anymore at Kai.
Today another lady cut and styled my curly hair. The hair cut was ok, but please take a look at the style definitely she doesn’t know how to style a curly hair. And she charged 80. ?♀️

It’s a cute spot and I really like my stylist but haircuts are up to $85, with tip that means $95+. I won’t be able to justify going here every 8-10 weeks but will still 2x a year. I always leave with my hair feeling like a million bucks.
