Pretty awful experience with their window treatments purchase/measure/install service. Went to take advantage of a sale on Bali blinds. Sale started the day before I went in and was supposed to last for 12 or so more days. Found out their measuring was being scheduled for more than two weeks out, and you had to have the measure done and blind selection paid for in order to get the sale prices. So in other words, the sale prices were meaningless. Spoke with the manager who agreed with me and said he'd talked to someone else and try to work out a way that I could use the sale. He suggested I go ahead and get a measurement set up so that they'd be able to show I'd done that early in the sale. I set that up to be scheduled. The sales person also was supposed to check on what the ladder fee was going to be, since my windows were up really high. Both said they'd call me by Monday with answers to those two questions (sale price and ladder fee). It's now the next Sunday and no call about either issue. I did get a call from the people who they sent the measurement request to, and that was done incorrectly as well. They sent my request and info to their Kircher people, who do custom curtains and such, and don't do measurements for Bali shades, so even that wasn't done correctly.

Waited for over 45 minutes for help, wanted to buy kitchen appliances. Two different employees looked at us at least ten times and never once came over to ask if we needed help. As we walked to them to ask for help, they walked away and started helping someone else. Left and went to Lowe’s.

Many thanks to the guy working in the appliance section on Saturday. He showed me how to repair my bathroom fan and helped me order the right part. The part arrived and without too much trouble, we were able to install it. Could not have done it without his help! Thank you!

We had carpet installed from here about a month ago. The workers were extremely courteous and the guy who came out to measure was quick and he explained everything to us. They gave us a fair price and the work was done in just a few days. I would definitely have them do more work in the future.

I had flooring put in earlier this year. People in the store are nice and service oriented. However, advising the customer and understanding solves that are int he customers best interest are opportunities for Home Depot. The installation was not done correctly and I a have an uneven floor in a high traffic area. I am worried it will never get resolved. Work between Home Depot and their subcontractor has been tiresome and dawn out. If you are considering having Home Depot install flooring for you, carefully weigh your options with someone better equipped to ensure quality and follow through service. The cost savings may not be worth it. Today I am going to the store for the 4th time to try and get my situation resolved.

Awful experience with carpet installation. We were told HD cut and removed hardwood floors for an additional fee if we wanted carpet installed, so we purchased the estimate. The estimator measured, took pictures and a day later we received the quote. We paid for the order in full and scheduled installation (5 weeks out). The installers arrived and told us they did not have the tools to cut the floor and left, after their supervisor told me they would get someone out to cut it. 5 min later, the HD store called and told me they don't cut hardwood floors. The store manager deferred me to the special order manager who (after a day of research) told me they don't do it and I would have to find my own solution. I asked for a refund and was told I needed to pay a restock fee for the carpet. Why on earth should I have to pay for your mistakes- at your order desk... at the estimate... at installation... and after escalating to management? Think twice before purchasing carpet or ANY install service with Home Depot. Formal complaint filed with HD corporate.

Unfortunately, the HOME SERVICES estimate and quote that you think you're getting to come out to your home for work you want to have done is actually a huge sales pitch. You get a 35 minute pitch of questions that are tailored to make anyone else's home services sound awful by spinning how great HOME DEPOT is as though they are the only ones who do it right, thinking you are that d*** and ignorant,... insulting!\ Then, after looking at the room or space you want a quote on, the designer--not an actual remodeler---- gets her samples and wants you to go ahead and pick and choose a color scheme. \ After working out a color scheme back in the space you want to remodel, you go back to the table and she does the figuring of the cost of the job you have indicated you want to have done, she writes down a huge grand total of the entire estimate on a piece of yellow legal pad paper. Nothing is itemized, nothing is broke down, no choices are offered as to choice of cost of materials, etc. \ When we said the quote was twice what we want to pay, we were very taken aback by the response of \\\" Well, if you think you can get this done for half of this amount you'll never find it\\\" --assuming we have not already had two other estimates almost half again lower, although earlier when I mentioned that, she found fault with them never knowing who even gave us prior estimates. When we said we are not signing a contract that afternoon, her whole demeanor abruptly changed like a reaction to a promise that we blatantly broke to her. This was to be a quote, not a purchase, we told her that when she got here.\ It took us almost 30 minutes of saying no to get her to finally leave.\ She continued with \\\"What about financing, how about doing half the job now..blah blah.\\\"\ (and the other,...what in 10 years?) and then she tried asking us How about a discount where HD uses your job when finished to advertise, sure we say. She then fires off an email requesting the home office to give a yay or nay. We find out it's about $2000 less--but--still $5000 more than the other two estimates we already had, and that 5000 represents a full third of the total job quote she gave us. The one thing I will say is she was very personable, fun and good with her colors and ideas until the estimate was given and we said NO. \ HOME DEPOT: SEND OUT SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE DESIGNER for the estimate. We were not given choices on grade of materials, not even a basic simple item breakdown of costs, ie; floor, shower, tearout of old fixtures, etc. Plus, this whole thing took almost two hours. Every other remodeler service estimate was a half hour visit and an email a couple days later with a total itemized quote.\ Terrible. stop hustling your potential customers!
